Hi everyone ----- Anyone from Singapore/M'sia or Thailand?

      Hi all.
Maybe a short introduction about myself (this will also set the context and background for understanding my dreams).

I am male of chinese descent.
I am a Singaporean. (Singapore is a small south east asian country)
I am currently 30 years old.

Recently I have become more spiritual and my intention is to strive towards a more spiritual path in life. I have inclinations towards Theravada Buddhism (in particular, Thai Buddhism).

The short version of the reason why I am inclined towards Buddhism: because of the various experiences in my life, I have realized certain truths for myself, even before I came to know more about Buddhism. And so, when I got to know more about the teachings of Buddhism, I realized that the truths expounded coincided with what I had already realized and known for myself, through personal experience.

I have begun meditation recently (about 4 months or so) and it has contributed to quite a number of interesting and significant dreams that I experienced during sleep. If I am not mistaken, less than a month of meditation unintentionally led me to have a spontaneous Kundalini awakening, and I believe this has contributed to me having better recall of my dreams, more interesting and unusual dreams, as well as more control over my dreams (close to lucid dreaming or perhaps is some form of lucid dreaming).

Anyone from Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand?

Hi Johnathan. So sorry for the late reply

Anyway, Buddhism in this day and age is quite diverse already.

As for my lucid dreams, I will when I have them

At the moment, I am consciously trying not to have lucid dreams because I feel I am not ready for them. I currently would prefer to just be able to recall as much of my dreams as possible, and use that for spiritual development.

I am, when I have the time, studying and considering whether and when I should make my dreams lucid. I am just afraid I may not be able to get back to normal non-lucid dreaming as I see the uses of this kind of dreaming as well.

Thanks, I will private message you should I need help or advice

Oh, I am afraid I do not know the differation between different Buddhism religions =/ but I do meditate. I do about once a week for a half hour,, its enough to unwind me And While I do not belvie in a God of any kind, I belvie that every living thing is sacred and connected through nature, so we must love it. DO you meditate at all? And what are some different parts of Buddhism ( just if you know, I don't want you running off to write a paper )

Can say there are 4 main groups, with many sects in each:
      1) Theravada (only surviving lineage from Buddha's time)
      2) Mayahana
      3) Mantrayana (Tibetian Buddhism is part of this)
      4) Japanese Zen (some don't consider this a fourth group) (Chinese Zen is under 2) Mayahana)

I do meditate. But quite lazy, so I don't meditate as often as I should hehe

I would recommend u read up the Wikipedia section on Buddhism. Gives a good overview.

I would recommend this Buddhist forum: E-Sangha
(a good place to discuss issues and get to know more about Buddhism)
