1st self induced LD, 1st post...

      Hey everyone,
Well i guess this will be an introduction / 1st dream post. I've been having LDs since i was younger, but just appreciated them and let them pass without thinking too much about it. Last week I had an extremely vivid one, which prompted me to find this website, join, and read LaBerge & Rheingold's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming in under a week. I'm at a University and semi busy, so I had not even got around to starting a dream journal (that changed this morning!) anywho, I've been remembering dreams with ease the first 4 nights i tried, so i decided to wake up for an hour then go back to bed (sorry, I'm too excited to post this, can't remember if theres an acronym for that, I'm sure there is ) Well to make a short story shorter, it worked! So while this was by far not my first, it was my first conciously induced and recorded. I am a very excited person at this time. It lasted only for about 5 minutes i believe, then i let myself get too excited and woke up.

So I guess i'm pretty pumped up to have people to talk to about this and appreciate the really nice site you guys have here. Thanks!

Hey there Spartan, and welcome! (my HS team was the Spartans )

Congrats on having your first induced LD. I was much like you, in that I had a few LDs over the years without knowing what they were, but then last year I had a very vivid one, which prompted me to search the Internet. That's when I found DV, and began inducing them myself.

I think the acronym you're looking for is WBTB (Wake -- Back To Bed).

I hope that you stick around, I'm sure you'll have a lot to share with us!

      Hello and welcome.

Just stopped in to say hi...and congrats.

And...to tell you that I am severly jealous that you had a LD recently.

I've had LD's before but now seem to be in a little rut. I believe I would have had one last night but I was rudely interupted out of dreaming someone jumping all over my bed
I'm going to try the WBTB too tonight. See if that helps any.

Good luck with your dreams...hope to see ya around.

      Well Done!!

I've been having LDs on and off for a long time too but never really took alot of notice. I guess when I start realizing that I'm dreaming I get freaked out and wake up. I'm here to learn the art of dream enjoyment.

Last night I went to bed and I was really tired so I thought I'd relax and let my body sleep and I'd try and stay awake. I didn't think anything would happen because I'd only just gone to bed. My body started to feel really heavy and I felt like somebody was sitting on my chest then I felt like I was floating a little and started to tilt sideways.
      Then my child woke up.
Went back to sleep again and this time I felt heavy and I felt like my body was buzzing and all of a sudden I felt really lite. Don't know what happened then. Fell asleep.

Good Luck next time you try.
