How Close am I to a Dream?

Last night was the first time I've really tried gaining lucidy during my dreams. I layed in my bed for about a half-hour to forty-five minutes, then my body went numb. I'm guess this was sleep paralysis? I stayed focused on the numb feeling, and my breathing. I felt as if I was floating, or falling. Then I saw a purple, or violet light. I also saw a white feather in a black room floating gently. I'm guessing these are HI? After that, I saw snapshots of various pictures and objects that happened to me that day, or they were just random things my brain conjured up. This went on for no less than an hour, and I didn't feel any vibrations, but I felt my muscles twitch in my legs and arms. After that I didn't see anything, it was if I was in a black void. My body was completely numb. The feeling of floating or falling was gone now.

Once the floating sensation was gone, and I didn't see any more lights/images, I got frustrated and woke up, so to speak. Does anyone have a guess to how close I got to a dream? My mind was fully awake, and I was trying to stay focused on my breathing pattern and try to notice and HI. Also I'm sure some of you have experianced this and know if there is a was to ride through it, or did I lose my concentration after the floating feeling was gone, and the HI stopped appearing?

      Thanks for any help.

Welcome to Dreamviews JackSparrow. It sounds like you were insanely close to a WILD Awsome job for your first time really trying to achieve Lucidity O_O. Anyways, I have not experienced waking up again from such a deep high. I have had thae falling feeling wake me up, but I dont think that was your problem. I'm sure others haev gone through the same thing.

Thanks! I've had two lucid dreams before, but unintentionally. They were a blast so I'm determined to train myself to have them again.
