Hey and welcome! |

In dreams I am rarely exactly the same as I am in waking life. I find in dreams the scars on the back of my hand aren't there. However if I wrote some thing on the back of my hand and kept checking it was there it might work. Even if the writing doesn't appear in the dream at least if I remember I'l notice it's gone, so it should work weather or not you apear as you are. Good idea, I might try it |

I'd say that writing something on your hand is useful only if you forget to do reality checks in waking life (in the time when you're trying to make it a habit) so it reminds you. It could probably trigger lucidity in a dream too, but doing it just for that would not be very effective IMO. |

Well, with reality checks, they're usually not very effective unless they are done on a consistent basis so that they become a habit. Finding a current dream sign helps with that a lot, as you can train yourself to see things you usually see in your dreams. People who don't have a consistent dream sign can use writing on their hand or a piece of paper or a watch to try and create a dream sign so that they will perform that action in a dream and be able to become lucid. |
