Thread: WHY AND HOW DO I STOP MY LUCID DREAMS

I have had what I called waking dreams my whole life. Lately they have been occuring every night. They are kind of fun but not every night. The subject is usually the same, something is after me. I see things moving around in a manner that will trap or catch me. The objects are not usually specific. It could be a lamp slowly sliding accross the table toward me. The worst part is when I wake up my wife with them. I accedentally slapped my wife thinking I was shooing something away from here. I could acually see a slithering something crawling up from behind her. I am very much awake during these episodes.
I know I am dreaming but I am stuck between the dream and contiousness. I know it is not real but yet I can not stop it. What can I do and does it mean anything specific? It freaks my wife out when I put my hands across her face waking her up from a dead sleep telling her to be quiet cause I see something on the cieling moving toward us. Anyhow you get the idea. Any ifo anyone can give would be great.

You're not the first person here who's suffered from too many LDs. It sounds like your body's not going into sleep paralysis as it should, so if you continue to act out your dreams I would have that checked out. If it's not serious, I'd work on simply having more calming dreams.

How much control do you have over your dreams? One technique I've been meaning to try out is causing everything to freeze around me. That way, if I'm in a situation that I don't like, I can simply leave and go to a better location.
