      First "lucid" dream!!!

Well...its about my 5th day of journaling and doing RC's daily and last night I almost had a lucid dream!!! I realized I was dreaming while I was already flying around in a non-lucid dream and I launched into the sky and totally forgot about it. Has this kind of thing happend to you guys when you first started trying to lucid dream?

Almost?! that WAS a lucid dream!

      Congratulations.

Although it can be annoying to loose lucidity suddenly like that, it's a big step forwrd and you should be proud of yourself.

      Congrats on your first LD

      A little word of advice:

Once you attain lucidity in a dream, don't leap into whatever you planned or want to do.. first just calm down and look around, taking everything in. Try to balance the dream as well as your mind. Clearly tell yourself you are dreaming, and take everything in, slowly.

All in, this will help last your lucidity much longer, and your dream will be more stable! And as you go about, try remind yourself as often as possible that this is a dream.. the mind works in tricky ways 8)

      Good luck

this is excellent advice. my first lucid dream only lasted one or two seconds (the lucid part i mean). and then i had about a dozen short ones where i'd always lose lucidity, or wake up, because i would try to do too much too soon.

my longest and coolest lucids have been the ones where i took the time to ground myself, calm down, and fully absorb the fact i'm dreaming before trying anything else.

congratulations! and good luck in your future lucids..
