I'd say it was probably a lucid dream, as long as you realized you were dreaming it qualifies. Waking back into your original dream is kinda of like a false awakening if you think of it, so I don't see why it wouldn't be considered a lucid dream. Congrats!

Hopefully by posting my experiences here, I will improve my recall by consistently forcing myself to remember what I was dreaming about. I assume through the improved ability to recall dreams comes the improved ability to become lucid more often, no?

only you can decide what constitutes 'lucidity' for yourself personally. although to me it sounds like you had some level of lucidity.

what happens before and after is of no bearing on whether you are lucid within a single moment.
