      Hey Hey

Hello everybody I stumbled upon this site/forum from a google search a week ago -- I was searching for more information on Lucid dreams. After reading an article on the topic I was fascinated and wanted to find out more... well here I am. Up until I came across this site, I had not been able to remember my dreams. Well I couldn't remember the last time that I had recalled one. Since reading through dreamviews, I've been keeping a dream journal. The first night I remembered a small amount of one of my dreams! I was very excited but still upset that I was unable to become lucid. On the second night I remembered three dreams and successfully wrote them down (well the portions that I could remember that is). I didn't do so hot over the weekend in regards to recalling my dreams. I've been trying really hard to become aware that I am dreaming with no success. Aside from reality checks and keeping a dream journal, what else do you all reccomend?

Hey there, & welcome to the forum!!
You are off to a great start keeping a DJ. The other thing you can do is read these tutorials, & pick the one that is right for you!!

      Hey there, and welcome aboard!

It's great that you are already able to recall some dreams and are writing them down. Just spend some time reading through the site and getting to know as much as you can about lucid dreaming. There are lots of methods for inducing a lucid dream when you are ready...but most importantly, you need to find dream signs by using your dream journal to find recurring "themes" or things that happen in your dreams. Also...just make your mind more aware and open to the fact that at any point, you could be dreaming. Stop right now and question your surroundings. How do you know that you are awake? Do that several times a day.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me or any other Dream Guide.

don't allow yourself to get upset or frustrated if you don't have lucid dreams right out of the gate-that's unrealistic in most cases.

keep writing in your DJ, and read the tutorials (i recommend the WBTB, HILD, and MILD techniques especially)

other than that, keep motivated, don't get negative, and ask any questions if the tutorials aren't clear.

      welcome, and happy dreaming

nesgirl, thanks for the warm welcome and reccomendations... the tutorials section looks to be very promising

Aquanina, Hopefully I'll continue to be able to recall my dreams -- I haven't been able to for the last few days -- then again, little sleep = fewer dreams I can't wait until I have enough pages filled up in the journal to find my own dream signs. I appreciate the response and warm welcome.

Asher, I'm not that upset... maybe just a little anxious I'm really excited about experiencing a Lucid Dream. I will definitely check out the tuts you've recomended - thanks so much! and thanks for the warm welcome as well!

For those that aren't "naturals," how long did it take to become lucid?

Well, each person is different. Some people will have an LD the first night after hearing about it. Others, like myself, take longer. It was three weeks before my first LD, but just because it took longer for me doesn't mean the same will apply to yourself. Just be diligent with your reality checks and all that stuff that's already been said.

I'll also throw in my "let us know if you have any questions" bit, just in case. Sweet lucid dreams!
