      Remembrance in search of Control

      Hello All,

I have just recently began doing research on Lucidity in Nocturnal emissions. I am eighteen years old and I still remember nearly every dream I have ever had since I was four or five years old. I have always liked the idea of Lucid dreaming but have not experienced it as far as I know. I know that recollection of your dreams is extremely important and I have that down well, knowing this by the fact that I could easily list every dream I have ever had right here and now. But I'm wondering what steps should I take now since I have the step of recollection nearly mastered.

      Thank you,
      Forrest Phoenix

what did you dream on the evening of july 11th, 1998?.. j/k

its a great start that you can remember your dreams. the tutorial section is the best place to learn about having lucid dreams.

i'd recommend looking into the following first: the reality check tutorial, the WBTB tutorial, the MILD tutorial, and the HILD tutorial. then take it from there. feel free to ask any questions you may have, and welcome

For July 11th 1998 check my Dream journal once I get to the year 1998 I just started it. It is so strange that I can reccollect every dream. Should I really record every dream I remember? That is a major load of nocturnal emissions, thirteen years worth. Should I record every one?

      Thank you,

      Another question

In some dreams I realize I am dreaming and I give myself the opprotunity to awaken. For example...

I had one dream in which I was in a small builing made of windows and one door, I was surrounded by zombies (as in many of my other dreams) and I came to the point where I was surrounded and out of ammo I finally told myself to wake up and I did, is this a form of Lucidity or can the ability to wake yourself from a dream be just a part of the dream in itself. to me it sounds like a form of lucidity seeing that you would have to know you where in a dream to wake yourself up. I don't know, assistance please.

      Thank You,
      Forrest Phoenix

*shrugs* if you have the time i guess it depends on whether you want all of those dreams written down or not. personally, i would only write down the more vivid/important ones.

dream journals are typically used to increase dream recall, and find certain 'dreamsigns' (common anomalies in your dreams) which you can use to become lucid in future dreams. you already have good recall, and enough dreams to pick out dreamsigns, so writing down all you past dreams isnt neccessary to learn lucid dreaming.

for instance, you mentioned you have zombies in many of your dreams. this is a good dreamsign. tell yourself often that WHENEVER you see zombies, you will recognize that you are dreaming. eventually you will see one in a dream and go "hey, i'm dreaming!"

and it sounds like you were lucid for a brief moment if you told yourself to wake up, and did.

Yes I believe the zombies may also be a side effect of being a George Romero Fan...

But thanks that is great advice, cause I wasn't really understanding the "Dreamsign" thing but I do now.

Another Question (How else will I learn)

I'm going to search the board for this too but I thought I might as well ask it here too since this is my thread.

How well does VILD work??? Would you reccomend some other over this certain one for me as a starter?

      Thank you,
      Forrest Phoenix
