      movement during a dream

I tried to spin during a dream this morning, and I did. However, making the movement felt like I was going to wake myself up, which I think caused me to not be able to focus on anything decently during the spinning. I often feel like I will wake myself if I try something, even if it is only to complete a though or just the effort of concentrating no matter the intent of the concentration.

What can I do to overcome this?
      Thanks

The best way to overcome this would be to keep a cool head and approach all these things calmly and objectively, a clear mind is a must for lucid dreaming. Also, i you feel that you may wake up when doing these things, don't be scared to. If you wake up then it's a learning curve and it'll teach you to approach these things better in the long run.

yeah, i was the same way when i started out (still am to some degree).

in the beginning, i found it was best not to worry about waking up too much...the more you worry about it, or think about it, the greater chance you will wake up. i moreorless squandered my first lucids by trying to take things too slow.

sometimes it is best just to attempt things decisively and without worry. if certain things wake you up a few times, try something different the next time. but if you try to take things too slow, it will actually take longer to get past that first stage.

its kinda like learning to ride a bike. if you try to take things too slow, and worry if this little movement, or that one will cause you to fall, you almost certainly will fall because your not going fast enough to move past the 'wobblies'.

if you just go for it, within reason, you may bail a few times, but you'll learn much quicker.

      hope this helps.

Do a dreamspin again. If it fails next time, you'll most likely end up in a false awakening, and if you are prepared for it, no problem!
It's easier to lose lucidity to the subconcious mind than it is to wake up.
