New Here... + My first sweet dream experience?

Hi. I've been trying to get myself to record dreams for a few days now and have been doing alot of lucid dream reading. Usually my dreams are fuzzy and I can't make out the faces of characters I would like to see even if they are people whose faces are familiar to me. On the other hand, scenes are usually clear especially if they are of interest or excitement. My dreams are sometimes extremely strange too. There are some I find so meaningless and trippy that I wake up confused and wondering what's wrong with me..

Anyways, last night using the reality check technique paid off for me..! After a few days of telling myself to have a certain dream I ended up having one (wasn't the dream I wanted, but whatever). It started with two characters from a british children's show I'd recently seen on TV ... We were walking through a field of cows.... Dead cows and live cows.... The dead ones looked dried up like mummified corpses and I think I just felt amused by it.... The little characters started jumping to and from platform-like (trees?). I started to do the same. This felt like gliding... Suddenly something clicked and I realized I was really gliding and so must be dreaming ..! I attempted to glide for a long time and flew just a little bit until the excitement began to get to me and things started to fade . Something in me remembered to try spinning which stopped my dream from fading. All of the colors spiraled together and suddenly everything went black... It brought me to a new setting though... A nightmare where I set my house on fire..!! I lost the lucidity in this dream..

Also I have a question.. Do you think being able to recall and focus in dreams could improve one's memory? Having the ability to tap into dreams, clearly gives the dreamer better access to the subconcious. What do you think? Have any skilled lucid dreamers noticed any improved memory? I

      Yes.
It does not only help your dream recall at night but it has seemed useful in helping with general recall as well.
It is a win win scenario. Also by keeping a journal you can readily go back to compare dream signs or recall certain instances.
