      hello everyone

I am a 41 year old male.. Got intrested in lucid dreaming in the 80's after reading Stephen Labarge's book.. Had some good sucess with it back then but my lucid dreams are few and far between now days. I guess because I have just not had the time to devote to it that I use to.
I do keep a dream journal and have about 340 dreams in it. I look forward to discussing and learning from everyone

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
You are already at a good start at LDing by keeping a Dream Journal. Just keep trying to have more, and you'll have more. If you remember how you did it when you were younger, try to do the same method. And never get stressed when trying!
You may also want to write in a DJ on here, or maybe have a look at some of the tutorials.
If there are any other questions you have, feel free to ask!!

Chances are the more you discuss things that pertain to dreaming & lucid dreaming you will again gain more success.
Honestly... One bad thing about getting older is that we spend less time in REM sleep. Not to say we can't lucid dream by any means but it may be a little
      harder.

I have read your DJ! It is excellent. Another thing to put down is whether they were Lucid or not. It will help you keep track.

      Welcome.

What methods did you use back when you had success with Lucid Dreaming? Did you have Lucid Dreams before you read LaBerge's book? What methods are you trying now?

Still hoping for my first one, so forgive me for being inquisitive

I did not have lucid dreams until I read an article in Omni Magazine back in the 80's by LaBerge.. I bought his book after that.. The main thing I did when I was having sucess was reality checks.. My main way to do this was while I was awake I would jump up in the air.. If I came down slow ot started to float then I knew I was dreaming.. I did the reality checks enough while I was awake that it started spilling over into my dreams and I became lucid a lot by doing this. I would also try to look for things (dream signs to clue me in that I was dreaming)

Now days I have just been so busy that I have not had time to really try to discipline my mind again to have much sucsess.. I have spent some time trying short cuts(herbs ect)... Anyway, I am hoping that talking with everyone in here and learning that maybe I can get motivated and get back on track..
