      Getting Started The First Time

Okay, I'm sort of a "Lucidity Virgin" here, having only experienced lucid dreaming a handful of times, by accident. I really remember enjoying the sensation and hating to wake up, but once or twice I do recall telling myself to wake up in the midst of a nightmare and it did work. Anyway, I'm just looking for advice about the first attempt. I mean, the very fist time you closed your eyes with the intent of having your first lucid dream, what did you say to yourself on your way to sleep?
I'd be interested in knowing how this process began for others, and what degree of success you experienced with the first few tries?
      Thanks!

BTW, this is an awesome site, and very active!

Welcome Christy! The tutorials has tons of info on induction techniques, and I (and everyone else ) would reccommend starting a dream journal if you have not already done so. Good luck Lucid Dreaming!

Edit: I didn't have much success trying to LD for a few weeks, although I had a few dreams in which I very nearly became lucid. I found this site whilst looking at stuff about Sleep Paralysis, but i've found that lucid dreaming is much better, and not so terriffying.
