Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
What exactly are you talking about here? WILDing or SP?
If you are asking why we'd want to experience SP, the simple answer is that it helps you WILD, and as long as you are not afraid, it can actually be quite fun. If you are afraid, just remember that it is a part of what really happens to your body when you are dreaming, so anything that appears is pretty much dream imagery.
If you are describing WILD, there is nothing scary about it. It is fun, and when you are in the dream, you can do whatever you please, and even if it turns into a nightmare, if you know you are dreaming, you should know it cannot harm you.
As for everything else out there (Beyond Dreaming, in other words), I can say nothing about that!!
Oh, and do not be afraid to ask any questions, b/c I'd be more than happy to answer them!!

I hope you're not referring to lucid dreaming itself -- that's the main thing that the people here are trying to experience, and it's not a horrible feeling at all. Quite the opposite.

If you're talking about Sleep Paralysis, well, I can understand your apprehension at that. But it isn't necessary to go through SP in order to experience lucid dreams. And besides, once you understand what SP is, why it happens, and how to use it to induce lucid dreams, it stops being a "horrible feeling" -- some people find it exciting and fun!

SP does suck . However, I'm 32 and it has happened to me numerous times since i was a child so thats not as big of a deal as the feeling I get when I realize I am dreaming. When i realize i am dreaming with in seconds my body gets this wierd feeling thats impossible to describe in the past the only way that i could describe it as as death.Do i have issues or does this make sense?

Maybe you are starting to get a little bit too excited/stressed. If that is the case, try next time to relax while this is happening.

Well, I hesitate to say that you have "issues" (whatever that means ), but I will say that I don't recall ever hearing anyone react to lucid dreaming in such a completely negative way before.

Hello dontlikeit.
It seems to me that you may be a natural at Lucid Dreaming, in which case you are the envy of many of the people on this forum...including me.
It has been said that when there is something in your life that you do not like, you can do one of three things:
1)Live with it
2)Change it into something you do like (something positive)
3)Cut it out of your life completely
People have a tendancy to go with number three way too often. Keep in mind that when you are dreaming, and you are aware that you are dreaming, you are in control. Instead of focusing on trying to stop having lucid dreams, why not try to turn it into a pleasureable experience. I have found that the mind will play all sorts of tricks to try to prevent successfull Lucid Dreaming. If you can tell yourself that the "horrible feeling" is just a part of the dream, and that it will soon pass, you may find that you can start to enjoy yourself and all the "good feelings" that come along with the lucid dreaming experience.
I truly hope you can learn to appreciate and enjoy your gift, but if not, maybe you could lend it to me for a while

Thank you for all the replies .Like i said I had no idea about the term LD or that other people have SP up untill today .I have tons of questions .But ,I would like to do some reading on LD first .For right now i'm just happy that I found this site.I think I will be renting vanilla sky tonight.

I haven't seen Vanilla Sky, but probably the most cited film that includes information about lucid dreaming is "Waking Life." I'd recommend that highly. Some of it's kind of odd and a little to philosophical for my tastes, but it does give some good insights.
