Ok, firstly I would like to say hello. Secondly I would like to tell you a little about me: I live in New Zealand, my two greatest passions in life are Martial Arts (I train in Zen-do-kai and have done a little Tai-chi Qi-gung and Muay Thai) and Filmmaking; my favourite movie is Battle Royale (Japanese: Botoru Rowiaru) - possibly because before seeing it I had been plauged by a recurring dream of schoolkids massacring themselves and others for no particular reason. I have always been fascinated by dreaming, and am currently working on a movie script about some highschool kids for whom it is their greatest passion. That's how I stumbled across this site - doing a little research. So that's me. And thirdly, I would like to ask; how do i get a cool little picture beside my name?

It's cool you can speak Japanese, i've been thinking of learning Japanese for a while now. my favourite movie is Battle Royale [/b] I was wondering if I should see that movie. It looked interesting. The Japanese always make such strange films. You're making a movie script eh? I want to do something like that, but haven't had much practice writing.

Funny you had a BR dream - you see, the reason BR is my favourite movie is that I kindof understand it completely. The reason for this being; for a long time before I saw it I had had recurring BR style dreams (ie. school kids being made to kill each other...). I still have them actually (I am reading BR the book at the moment which is actually better and freakier and sadder and more everythinger than the movie) - but have not been able to make them lucid. Those neck things are pretty awful huh? I've never been able to get one off. I guess I should start doing reality checks whenever I find myself surrounded by school kids? Oh, and uh speaking Japanese; well I watch a LOT of Japanese movies (yes they are the best and the weirdest), demo, watashi no nihongo wa ii dewa arimasen I wonder is the BR dream kindof a universal thing?

Yeah, I didn't really like it at first but I'm reading the book now and starting to think that maybe I should give BRII a second chance. It seemed sort of more 'real' than the first movie - less fantasy and more politics, which isn't something I'm really into, but the more I think about it, the more it grows on me... Incase you haven't seen it; Shuya is leading a terrorist group called the Wild Seven and the students from this year's programme get sent out to stop him... They have changed the necklaces too; you are paired with the equivalent class# of the opposite sex now, and if they die, your collar goes off too. There is one amazing scene where three boys get shot and then these girls collars all start beeping...

I haven't seen it actually, but I am intrigued that you say that my picture resembles this character. What's Jisatsu Circle about? Yep, I'm making it. I'm gonna direct acting and cinematography too. Let you know how it turns out "What's Jisatsu Circle about?" - Jisatsu = japanese for Suicide. Jisatsu Circle = the epitomy of gut wrenching beauty. Very dark, but at the same time life affirming and beautiful. A musical horror drama about a girl pop band, some policemen, and alot of unfortunate japanese schoolkids. And some kindergarten kids too. And a rabbit. And these weird spirals made out of squares of skin cut from the shoulders of people soon to die... Actually, i don't really know what its about. You should see it though if youre not too squeamish - the soundtrack is amazing. And on that note, suicide I think is going to play a relatively major role in my film - anyone have dreams to do with this? (such a nasty taboo subject i know , but dreams don't care about nasty taboo subjects: they have a true un-censoredness about them, which is something i would really like to replicate in my film ) *hugs menasan*
