      Hey everyone...

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm here basically because I'm fascinated with the whole aspect of dreams, lucid or otherwise. Having said that, becoming lucid in my dreams is a definite goal I have set myself. I had a couple of strange dream experiences when I was younger. Back in my teens, many many many moons ago, a couple of times, if I was woken abruptly, I would see "me" in the bedroom, looking at "me" in bed. The "fake" me would quickly disappear leaving the real "me" wondering what the heck just happened. Like I say, that only happened a couple of times and I don't recall the exact circumstances, whether I was sick or whatnot.

During my mid-20's, still many moons ago, I had a recurring dream incident. The dreams were always different, but there was a common denominator involved. In all the dreams, I would end up at a window just as the sky was coming over black as pitch. At this point in the dream, I would know what was coming next. I would feel the hairs on the back of my neck raise up and wait for the lightning to strike and then...FLASH--BOOOM and I'd wake up. This dream incident was every month or so for a couple of years.

Anyway, I started a dream journal about a week and a half ago and have gone from remembering a dream every 10 days or so to remembering, apart from 2 days, 1 or 2 a night albeit a little fragmented sometimes. I figure this is due to me being a newbie at this. I'm not going to even try to go lucid until my recall is vivid and I can regularly remember whole dreams. Or maybe I only ever dream in segments, who knows.

Anyway, "Hi" to you all and here's to being lucid by 2008 !

PS, thanks for the welcome TygrHawk !!

Well, we're glad that you're here. Have you had that dream lately or did it go away?

Lucid by 2008? Ha. If you work at it and keep questioning your waking state, you'll be lucid in no time. Having confidence will take you a long way in the dream world.

And anyway, I'm here, too, if you need a hand with anything. See you 'round!

Thank you Amethyst, I'm glad I'm here too.

No, I haven't had that dream in years. But it was so vivid and shocking (excuse the pun) that it's as fresh in my mind today as if I'd dreamt it last night.
