Okay, I'm a newbie, and haven't had any lucid dreams as of yet, plus my dream recall's pretty bad. BUT I think I can help you with your question nonetheless.
Dreams are basically the mind "shelving" and "storing" shit. You often dream of stuff you did during the day. PLUS when asleep, what you were thinking about doing before you slept, and what you tell yourself you'll do, (ie mneumonics) has a big effect, this is why you can "program" yourself to wake after a dream and record it.
SO what should you do to have a dream about a particular place??? Here's what I'd do, using Egypt as an example.
I want to dream about Egypt, specifically the Pyramids. So, I go to the library thismorning, get out some illustrated books about the pyramids, and photo books about egypt and the pyramids. I carry them around with me, and in my spare time I look at the books and the pictures, and try to absorb as MUCH relevant information about Egypt and the Pyramids as I can. I also spend a lot of time gazing longingly at the pyramids. Whenever I do this, I tell myself "I'm going to dream about this tonight, I know I am, I'm going to dream about Egypt and the Pyramids!" and say this in my head as I look at the pictures and read the information.
So, later that night before I go to sleep, I spend an hour in bed reviewing all the stuff asbout egypt and looking at the pictures, telling myself that that's what I'm going to dream about. You've gotta BELIEVE that this is what you will dream about, not just tell yourself. But belief isn't a problem, cos if you believe, you actually WILL dream about egypt... circular reasoning, I know, but it works!
Then, as you close your eyes, have your cup of hot chocolate, and drift off to sleep, you repeat to yourself in your head (or aloud, if you want!) that you're going to dream about the Pyramids, and after you dreram, you're gonna wake up and remember it...
THIS should work. SHOULD, cos I don't know, haven't tried it. But I reckon it'd work. Absorb enough information, and think about something enough during the day, your brain will likely try to "sort it out" in a dream. If you tell yourself you'll dream about it, that can only help...
I hope I've been helpful!
