      Howdy People

So... I remember having two lucid dreams about 3 years ago...I was in grade 10. They were so amazing, and the next day, I couldn't stop talking about them. Since then I have tried to have a lucid dream, but have been unsuccessful. I sometimes get to the point where I am sleeping, and in my dream I say to myself "I am dreaming" and then i roll my eyes back, and feel all funny, but I don't become lucid. Any suggestions?

      Hi there!

Yes, it was certainly an amazing feeling; one that I haven't been able to achieve again. My dream recall is great, it just seems that when I'm dreaming, I tell myself I am dreaming, and I recognize in my dream that I am not becoming lucid. It's strange. Since then, I haven't been able to become lucid again, I've tried having OBE's, however, I've have even more trouble with that. So, tonight, I'm going to try going lucid again. Usually I just try to keep repeating to myself that "I am dreaming", until I fall asleep. Any simple techniques you could share with me would be appreciated!

I have had difficulties such as these before, also. One technique that I think is a good one, is one that I like to call "Setting your intent". Sit down and outline a dream that you would like to have. Try to make it as detailed as possible. Put it under your pillow and lay down to sleep. Whilst falling asleep, visualize your dream. Also, you must be confident in yourself while 'setting your intent'. If you don't believe in yourself, it won't work. Also, it might help if you designated your own personal reality check. That helps me a lot.

If this doesn't work for you, experiment with different techniques. There are a lot of these here
