      Dreaming

So I, for lack off better word, suck at gaining lucidity, but I find I don't have many dreams. Once a month used to be all I had, but since I've been TRYING ( ) to gain lucidity, I've had a dream around once every night, or 5-6 a week. Any idea how to have more dreams? This might be more than enogh, but it seems to me most people on here have 2-3 everynight. Should I try harder???

Hey there BD, and welcome to the site!

First of all, I'm pretty sure that you already have more than 1 dream per night, it's just that you probably don't remember any but the last. If you can train yourself to wake up after every sleep cycle, you'll probably find that you will remember a dream each time.

The key is to write them down right away, because if you go back to sleep, you will most likely forget them. Also, the act of writing will prompt you to remember more details -- you may find that you remember more than you ever thought possible once you start writing. So put a notepad next to your bed, have a pen or pencil ready, and tell yourself "I will awaken after I dream, and I will remember the dream" as you are lying in bed trying to go to sleep.

You say that you've been trying to gain lucidity -- what methods have you been using?

Welcome to the forum, BeautifulDreamer. Everyone has at least 5-7 dreams per night. The trick is remembering them. We also have some tutorials avaliable for you to use. These might help you in your dreaming technique. I hope you have a nice time here!

I've been trying MILD with reward and punishment, think I should switch? So, how should I train myself to wake up? I've heard about REM, about every hour and a half you start one, right? Should I train myself to wake up every two to three hours or something? Thank again.[/quote]

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!

If you are wondering what I use, it is WILD, but is a bit harder than DILD for most people.

That is actually not a MILD, but more like RILD (Reward Induced Lucid Dreaming) and PILD (Punishment Induced LDing!)

Do whatever you feel like would help you do this. Keep a DJ for one thing, like Tygrhawk said.

MILD or WILD? Wich is more effective, and takes the least time? WILD seems to take longer, but be more effective. Your guide told me that I should set my alarm, and wake up, then I'll start having the dreams, or am I messed up? Thanks!

Either one works just fine. It is up to you to decide. It takes practice to master any of them!
