Hello everyone, I found this site yesterday, and today I am a member. I am looking for some pointers on methods that others who have had similar experiences had work for them. (not the best grammar) First, here are my previous LDs. I have have had two lucid dreams, one about four years ago, I noticed a small detail in an otherwise insane dream that caused me to realize I was not awake. I altered my own body and actions, but not the world around me, as i didn't really want to. this was just previous to waking and I realized that I would soon awake, so I tried to prolong my sleep, this is when I gained lucidity. The other LD was just a few months ago, in the middle of the night, probably after 6-7 hours of sleep, I again noticed a small detail in a completely unrealistic dream, I then gained consciousness and could then control my own actions, the control soon ended as I lapsed back into sleep, but I still maintained consciousness for the duration of the dream (i just watched but did not interact, as i couldn't or didn't feel the desire, is this LD?), about twice as long as the LD period.
I have very vivid dreams, they are in color containing many detailed real-life characters and NPCs (no personality characters: I don't know if there is a term for these, they are faceless and voiceless but have gender and detailed clothing, and can interact as well as any characters taken from the waking world, they usually tend to be stand -ins, pedestrians and such, but sometimes play main roles) I can read, though I know what the text says instantly, I usually see myself from the third-person but cannot see my own face and have had several dreams in other languages, though I don't speak them consciously. I tend to remember dreams well, at least one very vivid, long and detailed dream a week (before i started a dream journal). And that's my problem. Due to my reading choice (mainly SF, a little fantasy as well as many other topics) weirdness is a normal part of my mind, when you think that things in Fooly Cooly make sense, the purple cat or twelve foot donkey don't tend to register as out of place. I also like the idea of NST as I have already named my subconscious (Id) and have put our relationship to use before ever knowing what a lucid dream was. last night I told myself over and over, "Id will dream and she will remember" and that worked. According to the records i kept from last nights dreams, 4 or so, one of my dream signs could be trains, as they were present in all, yet i work near railroad tracks. How will I know to check if something is real, if i see it nearly every day?! Besides that, what methods would you suggest to induce an LD using NST? WILD, FILD whats easier/more dependable. any other pointers? and I'm sorry for writing the Great American Novel on my fr1st ps0t. To the one person who is reading this now, thank you for your interest. I'm just really excited!
