      New girl.

Hi all, i'm a 29 year old Brit and new to the forum.
I've had a couple of lucid dreams so far (that i can remember), and will be hanging around hoping to learn how to have more.
After reading the website i guess i need to knuckle down and start writing in my dream journal, its full of empty pages.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Hi, Kittie! Welcome to the forum!

Yup, the most important thing you can do to start LDing is keeping a DJ. It will help you recognize dreamsigns which you will use to become lucid.

      Good luck and have fun!

      Hi, welcome to the board!
Definitely start your dream journal right away, not only will it help with dreamsigns, it'll improve your recall, and you might find your dreams become more vivid as a result.
And don't forget what Gwen said, if you need anything, shout!
'all of the moments that already passed/
try to go back and make them last.'

Hi there Kittie, just thought I'd join the gang and welcome you as well....

OK OK!! -- So.... I just thought a little testosterone in the thread wouldn't hurt, sheesh!

Anyway, we both seem to be struggling with them empty pages in the dream journal. There are a few different reasons for the journal to fail. Lately I'm guilty of just thinking that remembering the dreams is enough (and yeah, being too lazy to open the thing up and pick up the pen) - that's no way to keep a journal.

You mind sharing what makes it hard for you to keep the journal going? We might have a method to help with that.

      Thank-you for the welcome.
Hmmm the dream journal thing is a toughie. I guess i'm not at my best in the morning getting ready for work and getting out of the house are really the only things on my mind. As for setting an alarm in the night to write my journal that simply isnt practical, my partner would soon get fed up, and he thinks my fascination with lucid dreaming is silly already.
However i had a day off work today, woke up leisurely from a dream, and wrote it down in my journal, if only writing my journal at weekends and after waking up from the odd afternoon snooze was enough.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Hi! Welcome on board! I share the same problem. My wife would quickly get cranky with me if I did this often.

Here is a thought though that works for me. Do you ever awaken in the middle of the night? I know that I do at least 4 times. Try to keep a small notepad and flashlight either by the bed or in the bathroom. When you awaken spontaneously during the night, make a few notes. You do not have to write a lot, just enough to job your memory later in the day when you are filling in details.

      Good luck!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Ah see, now I think that is key in at least good recall - not using an alarm. I've gone without an alarm for a year now. My mind seems to know when to wake me up and the slower I awake, the more I can pull from my dream back out with me.

Try to keep a small notepad and flashlight either by the bed or in the bathroom[/b]
Or one of these would work nicely as well:
