      Introduction

      Hello all

I'm new and making my introduction. So glad to have found this site!

i've read much or most of the tutorial pages already, and I have finished more than half of LaBerge's book (and two others on dreaming generally, neurophysiology and psychology). I've been keeping a dream journal for three weeks now, conducting state tests, and generally making progress. I had my first "intentional" LD last night, in fact, after spending much time on this board! Amazing.

I tend to be on the shy side about posting, so just because you don't see my name on the boards will not mean that I am not active, reading most every day.

Thanks all, for creating this space for learning and sharing. Barbara

Hi Ruinesque!! Welcome to DV! Congrats on the Lucid Dream thats awesome.
I know what you mean about being a "shy poster" - Im the same way. Ive been on here everyday since joining, but as you see I dont have many posts to my name (and most of those are from my Dream Journal). Im mostly an observer to DV. I love it here and I hope you do too!!

Hi there Barbara, and welcome to DreamViews!

You've obviously gotten off to a great start by keeping a journal, and reading the Tutorials and books. Not to mention that you've already had LD success!

Keep up the good work, and try not to be shy; ask questions any time you have them -- that's why we're here!

Hey there and welcome to the forum!
You are on the right track of LDing like Tygrhawk said! And congrats on the LD last night!
No reason to be shy about posting. No one is going to attack you (except in the religion forum, so stay away from that one, and if anyone harasses you, just let me know, and I will have a good talk with them!).
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

      WOOOOOOO!!!

A newbie who actually READS UP on stuff beforehand! I think I'm half in love already! Awesome, VERY GLAD to have you with us!

And don't be shy about posting, either. The more you post, the more feedback you get, and the faster you can make progress.

      Welcome to the forums Barbara!

You've made quite a start in the world of Lucid dreaming. What method did you use to have your first intentional Lucid?

      Good luck LDing!

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you're going to love it here.

Don't worry about being shy - some people are just more open about posting than others. I hope you find a lot of good information you can use for your LDing.

      Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for all the kind welcomes! Wow. I'll try to get over my posting shyness.... To answer dudesuperior's question, I guess it was the Reflection-Intention Technique for last night's success, although I have been trying to do MILD every night. Probably, just paying attention to the nature of things while awake, and doing state testing, eventually paid off. I looked out a window and saw a glorious richly hued planet, which pulsed to reveal the American continents. In gazing at those deep green shapes, just like a globe, I realized that I could not be on Earth, and be looking at Earth, at the same time - hence, I was dreaming! Unlike a few unintentional LDs earlier, this one seemed to last longer. May be it was just beginner's luck. I'll keep up my reading and journaling. Even if I never succeed again, it was worth it. In fact, paying more attention to my consciousness while awake is a gift this exploration has already given me.
