(Hi, I'm new) Good on Transforming, Just Not Action

Hello, all! I am new to this site and I am really excited to have come across it.

Well, I am truly amazed with all the tips and techniques of this site and its members because I've always desired to further explore the dreaming process. However, I do have a problem. You see, in my dreams I have the ability to physically transform into another person. Every once in a while I will transform into a bird, dolphin, or cat. However, most of the time I am stuck as an observer of myself-- I'm watching myself in my dream, but I can't fully control what I would like to say, what I would like to create, or where I would like to go. I only have the ability to control what little I am able to do and just my thoughts. I can walk, run, and understand...but I can't create, change, and switch anything.

Anyway, my question is: aside from thinking positive, practicing, and realizing that I am in a dream, how can I control what is happening, what I am saying, and what I will do, and where I can go, etc?

I've always thought that there was a parallel to my sense of being bold and forthright with aspects in my real life-- until I can be bold with what I want in life, only then can I achieve that in my dreams perhaps. (That’s just my initial guess at the problem. I guess I need to practice being fearless in both worlds.)

      Thank you,
      SoyReeds

Obviously, you know the benifits of LDing. Welcome to the forum. I am glad you have decided to join us.

In regards to your question: you attain better dream control as you bet to be a better LDer. One thing that might help you, is learning to visualize. Throughout the day, visualize yourself within a dream. Imagine that you have total control. What will you say and do, etc? How do you feel? If you practice this, it should be able to help you. If you still need further assitance, you can pm myself, or another member. We're all happy to help!

      Welcome to the forum!

A question - during your transformation dreams, are you lucid? Do you actually know that you're dreaming? Or do transform without actually realizing you're dreaming? There's a difference between becoming lucid and having dream control. This will make a difference on how you proceed to improve.

      Thank you!

It's funny that you ask because I know that I'm lucid, but only when I transform into a cat will it take me a little to realize that I have just transformed even though I know it's all a dream. (I guess that's because I'm always looking out a window and then jump down from it, haha.)

That is so interesting: the difference between becoming lucid and having dream control.

      lucidity vs. control

      Hello,

I'm new here too, and just getting the hang of more consistently realizing I'm dreaming. I was not aware until recently, that at first you will have little or no control. This morning actually, was the first time I had a LD where I was able to influence anything. I levitated briefly, then awoke. Crazy how differently the experiences are described when someone is trying to sell you something.
