      LDs only in holidays???

I have been interested in lucid dreams for a very long time now but I find it impossible to remember my dreams when I am at college. I cant even keep my dream journal . I hate this because it means that I can only practice lucid dreaming in the holidays. I had my first lucid dream during winter break and now I am having good dream recall and I am able to keep my journal again now that its spring break/easter holidays.
Does anyone else find it difficult when they are at school/college/work to lucid dream??

Ah yeah, I get that problem.

I tend to stop writing my dream journal when exams start, which tends to kill my recall until the holidays. I make a point of getting it back in the holidays. It's best to focus on recall during these times so you can carry it on through college. Also, I find if I don't have the time to write that recording my voice works just as well. I usually use my phone for things like that. Even saying them out loud helps.

I do if I find I'm not getting enough hours sleep each night...then my recall gets worse

I'd try to make up for it on the weekends by taking a long nap...I've had amazing LDs during naps if I had been previously sleep deprived

      Hey Bella Welcome to Dreamviews

Look, stress plays a factor in many aspects of our bodies and minds, so it's no surprise that it will play a role in lucid dreaming. Just be confident that you know you are capable of lucid dreaming. What you need to do is simply find a particular time in which you can set aside specifically for trying LDs.

This will take the stress off other nights when you fear that you may not be able to sleep longer due to appointments the next morning.

On the times that you DO set aside, you'll take with you that thought and confidence of having a lucid dream during that sleep session.

I'm going to school as well, so I get the same thing. One thing you can try, in addition to what's been said, is what I consider "abbreviated journal entries." Just write down the main points of the dreams you just had so that you have a frame of refrence. If you don't have time to be detailed in the mornign, then you can always go back and fill stuff in later. It also helps to go over what happened that night before you go to bed.

I manage about one LD a month when I'm at school. And as TJ said, stress can have a big impact on how well you sleep and how many dreams you may recall.
