      Hooray for introductions

      I'm Anjow.

I'm a 20 year old computer science student from Manchester, UK. When I was doing dreams during my psychology A-level a girl in my class told of how she could lucid dream, and it sounded fantastic. I assumed at the time that either one could or one couldn't and that was the end of it.

Then I stumbled across this place through wikipedia.

Being one who generally won't remember dreams, or maybe twice a month or so, I have a fair way to come. However, since starting trying I have managed, for the last two nights, remember in vague detail what I have dreamt. I've been repeating in my head as I'm going to sleep that I will remember them and also tried naming my subconscious and asking it to help me remember.

So I am making progress, but it is a little difficult because I want to be doing it all instantly! I want it now! I am not known for my patience.

I want to be able to experience these fantastic things, but I don't like drugs so they are out of the question - so I turned to this.

Welcome, and good for you! I've tried it both ways... and this is WAY better.

Patience will get you far. Achieving lucidity and then not remembering is rather pointless, obviously. Be persistant about remembering your dreams, and you will improve. Grasping what details you can and journaling them is a good start.

Read read read. The more you think about it, the more likely you will "remember" when dreaming.

Ahh yes, forgot to mention that I wrote down the content of those that I have remembered - even though I have only remembered one line's worth for each!
