First ATTEMPT, SUCCESS!! WOW!! Help also

Wow So I was reading the main page of this site the other day, and I realized I was already pretty good at dream recalling. I had accidental lucid dreams in the past, so I thought it would be possible to give it a shot.

So I went to sleep with my mind focused... about what seemed like an hour into the dream, something in my head clicked, this is a dream! I was so excited! I decided to try dream control...

At the time I was with friends in the dream, and I decided to prove it to them I was in a dream by turning one of them into cheese, but for some reason he kept turning into a skeleton which was really frustrating. It seems like the only thing I was able to control was myself (I gave myself super strength and 12 feet tall). But I really struggled to change my surroundings. I was so frustrated that it made me wake up.

that was 2 nights ago, I havn't been lucid since. Any ideas what I should do for dream control?

Welcome to the forum. It's awesome to have you here. It seems like you have a bit of a leg up on the LDs, since you've had a bit of experience. Stay awhile, and I'm sure the frequency of your LDs will drastically improve.

Congrats on the LD!! First try WOW! I wish I could have had an LD on my first try

I'd read some of the tutorials on Dream Control. It's kinda different for each person, but that would give you some direction I think.

For me, I had to just kind of ease into dream control. The first few LD's I had I couldn't do much stuff except maybe walk around and talk to people. However as time went on I learned a few tricks that worked well for me. Rubbing your hands together is a good way to keep you lucid and keeping everything clear and vivid. I could never look at something or wish something to appear and have it appear before my eyes. So I learned that if I thought of something, like I wanted a fast sports car to cruise around in, that I could look where I wanted it to appear, think about it and look back and it would be there. Same thing if I wanted a particular person in the dream. Look there, look away and back again or you can think about someone and then walk around the corner and they will usually be there. Pretty crazy. Dream spinning is suppose to be good to change the surroundings, but it only makes me dream dizzy and I usually fall down and start laughing and then I wake up.

The biggest tip is this: Don't try too hard, and never give up.

If you try to hard to do anything in a dream you will get frustrated and wake up. Also if you try too hard to LD you will usually get a mental block and not be able to do it either.

I found it is best if you plan out what you want to do in your lucid dream, before you go to bed. I use it to interact with my favorite character that I have posted about in several other threads. Pretty much before I fall asleep, I am thinking obscessively about meeting him.
