I suppose an introduction is in order...

You'd think so, atleast.

A little about me...
I'm from Minnesota, but I wasn't born here. I'm 15 years old, currently a junior in high school (well, for another month or so anyways). I also take some classes at the University of Minnesota as part of a Post-Secondary program, and I really enjoy them. Currently I'm taking Astronomy, and Intro to Multi-cultural Lit. They're about to end in a week though, so it's really not worth mentioning. I enjoy music, almost all subjects (Big nerd here, yeah. I'll take almost all subjects, but I really have no interest in literature. I mean, I love books and all, but I don't have much of an interest in tearing them apart and finding hidden meaning.), and video games. Though I haven't had much time for them because of my University classes. Also, I'm a huge Simpsons fan. You'll probably find me quoting them on a constant basis.

I've always been interested in dreams. As far as I can remember. I came upon this site from another forum I visit on a constant basis. I've been going there for almost two years, and the forums are very enjoyable. The GI Forums are the message boards of a large Video Game magazine known as Game Informer. I go by Erkenbrand there, if anyone also visits. Someone posted a "What other forums do you visit" thread, and there someone posted a link to this site. I started looking around, I was immedietly interested. I can remember only one dream where I gained lucidty (albeit for a few seconds). I was in a rollercoaster that went off a cliff, and as I fell I realized that it's a dream, and it helped me not be terrified. I was seven at the time, and of course, assumed that this is the only thing this conciousness can help with, and never realized there a whole world out there (in here?) to explore. Now that I've found this place, I want to become lucid. So far, I've started a journal and read through a few tutorials. I've one entry so far, and I'll type it in here when I have some more time.

So yeah, that's my story. On a sidenote, I'd like to say the layout for these forums and the entire site is fantastic, and I expecially like the banner. Very cool.

I have to agree 100% about the layout of the site, its great. I have not been a member here very long but I love it, I think the reason why the community is so great is because people who are interested in dreams are much more collectively sensitive. Honestly I cannot emphasize this enough, start a dream journal now! It isn’t a myth that it helps, it is plain fact. My dream recall has skyrocketed since I started.

Hey Micro Welcome to Dream Views! It's always good to hear that people are pleased with our site and I hope that you will enjoy our "little" community as well.

If you haven't already, I would recommend taking a look at the Tutorials to get a feel for some of the techniques you can try and use to become lucid. If you have any questions on any of those then feel free to ask!

And as a side note, I know what you mean about studying literature. I'm a junior at the University of Montana and I'm studying Russian, however, most of my classes will end up being lit classes and I also get tired of having to pry the stories apart. I just want to enjoy them and not have to worry about "The development and relevance of themes in Zoshchenko's 'Aristocrat' and 'The Bathhouse' " (which is due tomorrow). Anyway, we'll see you around!

Hi, welcome to DV! btw, i love your avatar, it reminds me of Florida...
I know what you mean about literature. I studied so many books in English in my final year of school, and poetry, that i find i can no longer read those books or poems. Books shouldn't really be pulled apart like that...i'm sure the authors never meant that to happen...
I like the Simpsons, but i prefer Futurama, and i've recently got into Sponge bob Square pants!
And you're right about lucid dreaming! Not only is it great for making a nightmare easier to bear, it's also great for other things, as you've probably already read.
Glad you like the layout and the banner, and i agree with you about the community, they're a great bunch. Hope you make friends soon!!
