I had just had an amazing dream, (have yet to update it in dream journal) and as the dream was starting to end I realized I could move my jaw in real life. My jaw was on the bed and I was move it back and forth with my mouth yet I was still seeing the last images of my dream, I saw a mans face getting closer and closer. What is this called? I knew I was still in the dream state but it was truly a 50% awake 50% asleep. |

i don't think it's hypnagogic imagery--i think it's a REM dream. sleep paralysis is effective, but it IS possible to move. in most of my WILDs, at first i see through dream eyes and my waking eyes at the same time, and if i don't quickly correct it i will wake up. |

Hypnogogic imagery is what is seen when a person is falling asleep, but there is also hypnopompic imagery... and I hope I spelled that right. It's imagery that can stick with someone when they're waking up, so it's possible that this is what you were experiencing. |

"If there was one thing the lucid dreaming ninja writer could not stand, it was used car salesmen."
I've had that happen to me multiple time before I even knew about LDing. It's like everything just starts fading away and then your face down on your pillow. It has only been with my jaw moving and im possitive it was not a false awakening. |
