hi, had first encounter with lucid dreaming recently...wow.

hello everyone I found out about lucid dreaming about 6 months ago through research into sleeping problems. for about 4 years i've suffered from something which i thought was sleep paralysis - normally when napping i would find myself thinking i was awake when actually asleep ie dreaming of lying in my bed in my room but i wouldnt be able to move (these were always frightening and even physically painful experiences). Over the years these experiences have become less short, painful and intense and more 'lucid' i spose -although until 2 weeks ago i still thought i was awake in the dreams. I fell asleep (night) and started having another one of these dreams (lying in my bed in my room etc) and i just realised i was asleep and dreaming! it felt really really good for a short time- it was like a rush to the head and a burst of colours is the best way i can describe it (abit like coming up on mushrooms for those who know) i had control of the dream for awhile and i flew around for awhile (i had read it was fun to do!) although it was all abit vague and after awhile i lost consciousness and went back into a normal dream. today i had my second lucid dream and just walked around my house (exciting hey ) although its wierd how real walking and movement feels.. anyway thats my story so far, hopefully next time i have a luicd dream i'll actually leave my house!

i know exactly what you mean about the similarity to coming up on mushrooms

i'll never forget my most vivid lucid to date...it was so "hyper-real", and my awareness was so much within the present, it felt exactly like bemushrooment (without the body stone). in that moment my dreaming, waking, and psilocybin realities all merged into one....quite an experience

glad you've found this forum...it seems you are naturally suited for some form of the WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream) technique..please check out the tutorial..
