Hiya Josh! Wow, that's a pretty wide-open question.
There are many different ways to induce lucidity. The first thing to do is make sure that your dream recall ability is as good as possible. The best way to do this is to start a dream journal. The simplest thing to do is to keep a notepad and writing instrument near your bed, and as soon as you wake up (even if you wake in the middle of the night), immediately write down anything you can remember about your dreams. The more you do this, the better you will be able to recall your dreams.
As far as the actual techniques for inducing lucidity, I suggest you check out the Tutorials section of the site for information on all the various techniques. Personally, I've had the best luck with the WBTB and MILD techniques, but everyone has their own favorites. You should try a method for at least a week or two, and then if you don't feel that you are making progress, try a different one.
After you read up on some of these methods, then if you have some more specific questions, post them, and you will be sure to get some good answers. Good luck!
