      Greetings all

      Hi everyone,

I was talking to my friend tonight about dreams, and I remembered reading about lucid dreams briefly a few years ago. Anyhow, I found this site, read most of it, and realised that between the ages of 5-12 or so, I was actively lucid dreaming with extreme control.

I used to dream every night, I used to look forward to sleeping and every night I would dream of whatever I wanted. I had a companion (can't remember for the life of me what he or she looked like) through which I controlled my dreams. As soon as I fell asleep I would ask this companion of mine what he wanted to do and then give the idea thought myself. If I wanted to be in a grand battle, I would ask him to change the ground, make me a weapon or an army or whatever I wanted. If I wanted to fly, we would go flying, I finally learnt to create these things by myself in my dreams and had hundreds of dreams with different contexts.

I think they started very shortly after I had a nightmare and complained to my mother. I remember she said to me "Remember Ben, it's all in your head, and good is ALWAYS greater than evil, if you are good, you can triumph over evil anytime." After that I had my first lucid dream where I became aware that I was dreaming and simply made parts of the nightmare dissolve around me until I had it how I liked it.

I haven't had a good one lately where I have been in much control but pretty much every one of my dreams are lucid.

Also I wanted to ask you guys if anyone has experienced extreme time distortion in there dreams. In one dream I was having, I counted over 10 days of being in the dream. I was in a completely different world and assisting a weird race of human in someting (so long ago now I cant remember) but everytime I said that I had to leave, that I had to wake up they would ask me to stay. Eventually I became distressed in my need to leave, I had been there for what seemed like weeks and they tried to help me. Eventually we figured out a way for me to get back and I woke up and was instantly relieved.

Weird stuff, I might try to develop this further as I have had lots of very interesting dreams with other people that I know, where we have both been aware of the dream, but the other person has forgotten about it the next morning when I asked them. (Or it's just all in my head)

Anyway, interesting site, nice to meet you all

Welcome to the forum, Ben! Glad you found the place. You've got some excellent experience LDing - are all your dreams DILDs (list of acronyms)? Like you just spontaneously become lucid without doing anything in particular?

Becoming lucid is the hard part, and you've already got that down. Working on control is easier than actually becoming lucid, in my opinion. Just keep practicing and you'll get there.

You should have a PM with some helpful links to get you started. Please feel free to share any questions or experiences you may have. I look forward to hearing more from you!

Last night before bed, I read up on these WILDS. I woke up around 4 times last night, I usually sleep all thew way through. 2 of these were false awakenings. I attempted to do a WILD the 2 "real" times I woke up. First one I did I just fell asleep, second one- Woah. Intense man. Felt like I was speeding at 1000 miles an hour through blackness and I popped out into a world but forgot to stabilise and woke up almost straight away. Oh, i want to add that I counted to 4 saying this is a dream before I actually got into it. Good fun, cant wait for tomorrow night.

I would say about half of my dreams are DILDS but usually I realise something amiss and figure out that I'm in a dream. I need to be better at recalling my dreams, however...
