      Hey All(plus a question)

hi guys i'm new to the forums, i've looked up stuff about lucid dreaming, and decided im going to give it a try(going to have a dream jorunal next to my bed tonight). anywho on the the question.

I find that if i fall asleep in a certien postion(usually on my back) but sometimes it happens in anypostion. that i know im dreaming and it's like i can see everything in my room(even though my eyes are closed) and i usually hear this buzzing or feel tingely in my head(it's like the feeling of your foot falling asleep, is the best i can describe it). or a combo of both. also it feels like im falling or sinking into my bed sometimes. on a side not i used to be scared when this happened but now i just go with the flow.

i was wondering does this happen to alot of people, does it have a name. sorry if this has been posted before.

Hmm...this sounds like it could be the beginnings of WILD.
If you haven't heard of it, here's a link to the tutorial!

      Five phases of WILD

I should just point out that WILDing is different for every person. I find that i don't get the lights, or the buzzing. I just go straight in.
Give that a read, see if it helps you any. If you have any more questions, feel free to drop me a PM and i'll do my best to help you.

Regarding your problem, as far as I know (from other sources) it could be, how it was already said, some kind of sleep paralyses. Usually the one who's experiencing this kind of phenomena is paralysed and can see all in the room he/she is sleeping in and has a lot of weird sensation, involving hearing (a buzz sound) and touch (some thing like someone touches him/her, or some stings). Unffortunately I'm no yet accoustemed to WILD (the term stands for wake induced lucid dreaming, no?); I'll certainly search the tutorials for this...

But I have a question. You said you know that you were dreaming, and you see (in the dream) your room and so on... What makes you say that you're dreaming and not awake? I'm very curious...

I asked you this because in the case of sleep paralyses usually the person is awake but the enviroment seems dream-like. So it's easy to confuse the two realities. Reagarding your tv, doesn't anyone turn it off at some point after you fall asleep? Does it run till the time you wake up?

In false awakenings, for example, the person is really dreaming but he/she feels that what is experiencing is reality. And acts in consequence, untill he/she wakes up and realise all is just a dream. The thing is that usually both sleep paralyses and false awakening take place in the same room the dreamer is. But in the first case he/she can't move.

I had once a false awakening later in the evening. I tend to try flying when I have reasons to believe I'm dreaming. If I succeed it's obvious that all was a dream. But in this case, because of the mixture of dream and feel of reality it all began to become very strange, as I couldn't distinguish between dream and the dream my brain thought it was reality. Very very weird. If you were to wake up me and ask if I was dreaming or not I wouldn't had known what to say. So, the sensation of hovering above the bed and all the feelings related seemed veru real but were not.

The point is that sometimes it's very hard to say what was dream and what was not. It's not so good though when you begin confusing reality with dream (while not dreaming or being on the verge of falling asleep or waking up).

nope im living home alone for the moment, my tv usually runs all night unless i wake up and turn it off. but just last night i realized i was dreaming and i floated around my house for a few seconds then i woke up, was pretty cool if i say so.
