      SP

      Hey
my names Luke and im new to this site & to lucid dreaming. This will be my third night and 3rd attempt at becoming lucid while sleeping, i've been doing frequent reality checks throughout the day so i hope i will get lucky tonight. (last 2 attemps failed). Recently i've found myself sleeping very lightly in fear of getting "SP". Tell me, is SP very common and is it somthing to fear? Also i've found myself waking every night at about 3am and not being able to sleep again for about 45 minutes dont know the cause of this but last night a dont remember dreaming at all.

      cheers
      -Luke

      Hey!
Welcome to the board! I'm pretty new as well, but I definitely know that SP is nothing to worry about; it is, infact, quite normal! Because when you sleep your body is paralyzed otherwise when you dream you are running, you would be running as well in real life, so in order to avoid this the body is paralyzed. SP happens when your mind wakes up before your body does, so then you're paralyzed! People who sleep walk can't completely paralyze their bodies due to some disorder. So don't worry!
I also just started and I wake up alot and remember a lot of dreams but I don't know why your not able to sleep... Try the 61 point fixtion thingy (it's in the tutorials (I think...)) that always gets me to sleep
      Good luck getting lucid!

I personally find SP to be a very interesting part of the lucid dreaming process. I've only managed to consciously feel it once, and I woke up from it, but it was quite exciting.

      Woooo! A fellow Kiwi!

Okay. firstly, SP is something EVERYBODY gets while sleeping, like Luci says. And no, it's not something to be scared about. The "terror stories" you hear are the very small minority, and in any case, a lot of the time the bad SP experiences happen simply by virtue of people being scared about SP in the first place.

The best advice I can give, is to read the tutorials in the tutorials section of the forum, and to keep at it! And btw!
