I've been trying to lucid dream for maybe a month and a half, 3 lucids dreams so far.

Problems is... each time I lucid dream I feel this terrible sensation in my jaw, like im biting so hard that my jaw is going to break itself. My jaw feels locked and I'm unable to open it. I can breath okay, thats not the issue at all it's just that I think the pain keeps waking me up. preventing me from lucid dreaming .

I've been told by many people (including my dentist) that I grind my teeth in my sleep (I didn't sleep with my dentist lol he could tell by the condition of my teeth ) So I think that may be the reason. The dentist has ordered me to start wearing a 'nightguard' so that I don't tear my teeth apart but I'm sure that won't be the ultimate solution... if that's the reason.

Anyways I was just wondering if anyone else has had this or something like it?

Get the night guard for your teeth, that won't just protect your teeth, it is also very likely to stop you grinding your teeth altogether. So in conclusion, that will stop your nasty habit, protect your teeth and let you sleep peacefully. :)

Oh, and for Christ's sake, stop screwing your dentist. :)

      LMAO

This hasn't happened to me, but I agree with everything Nutzilla said. Things from the outside world do transfer into your dreams in some form, and since when you're lucid you are aware, they transfer even more into your lucidity. The sensation of grinding your teeth is transferring to your dream, and coming out as a locked jaw and extreme pain. Take the hint from your subconscious and get that night guard thingy. Your subconscious is smarter than you think, and it is probably hinting to you that what you're doing is bad for your teeth and you need to do something about it. Anyways, it should also stop the transfer to your dream, which will allow you to get on with your lucid.
