im a new user, and i like to know a bit more about LD

first id like to say hi to everyone in the forum.
yesterday i cassually found out that lucid dreaming existed, and eventually i found this forum.
i've been reading some info about how to do it and i want to know what's it gonna be like.
i'm specially interested in the experience of people who ve never LDed without intending to. i think i can handle the dream recall part, but wanna know about the next steps.
okay, so my main question is: how long was it until u finally LDed?
id also like to know how it was like for u bfore u started trying to LD, how easy/hard it was, and what happened the first times.
also, are some people better prepared for LDing, or is there no difference at all.
i'd really apreciate it if u could answer some of these questions.

I was lucky. I had beginners luck. Before I could put to much thought into it, I had a lucid dream the very night that someone had told me about them.
As far as explaining what they feel like- I personally cannot explain it well enough to give it justice.

unfortunately i cannot help you with the length of time it takes etc. but it varies from person to person...some people are natural, and lucid dream without even knowing its something special (that'd be me), others, like howetzer, learn about it and can then do it, but most people require some effort or work to attain them, expecially with any regularity...it can take any time from a week to months, and really alot of it depends on how hard you work towards your goal and how much confidence you have (confidence plays a huge role in lucid dreams)...anyway, good luck, and welcome to the forums ^^

Welcome! Well Werburn and Howetzer pretty much highlighted the key points. Go to the tutorial's section to find out more about steps to lucidity.

Personally it took me a few weeks to get lucid. But like Werburn said it's different for everyone, and there are some who are naturals.

I had read about it many years before having a spontaneous LD. After that I was kind of hooked, bt only had a few a year.

Now I am rabid about it!

I had an LD the night after I first read about it. At one point I just started realising that I was dreaming.

It wasn't top quality or anything but it was enough to get me hooked on LDs.

I guess I have to make up a story about the orange now?

Anyway, I never LD much before I got here, just once and I woke up. It took me about a couple of weeks or so, if I am not mistaken, but it varies on the individual. Keep on trying, believe me the payoff is amazing, and completely worth it....
