im new and really interested in this

the only website i usually get on is gamefaqs. but every few days or so there would be a post about lucid dreaming. at first i ignored it but after 3-4 times of seeing it i chose to see what was goin on. so i googled it and got here. i read all the methods and tutorials on different methods and stuff, so i started making reality checks yesterday. and it must have affected me somehow cause that night i woke up 2 or 3 different times to perform a reality check. each time i woke up to check my clock i found out i was fully awake. and it must have been during my REM periods cause the first time i woke up was around 1:00, the next time was around 2:30, and the final time was somewhere around 4:00 but i have no recollection of my dreams or anything. anybody got any pointers on how i can remember my dreams better? thanks

don't worry about not remembering much. even if you don't remember anything, just sit and try to remember something, like maybe places you often visit that may have been in the dream, people you think about alot, or even feelings...how did you feel when you woke up....chances are, you'll get SOMETHING. it may not be big...but still, it's a start. you could remember a part from a dream later in the day, something around you may trigger a memory, maybe something someone says...just keep that up, and soon you'll be recording whole dreams, then even several in one night! good luck...and welcome to DreamViews.

Welcome! Don't worry about not being able to remember anything initially. Something like this usually takes a while, just don't give up.

GameFAQ's eh? I do remember there being quite a few threads about lucid dreaming there.

I think you should give it a few days, let your mind get used to wanting to remember, then again everyone is different.

By the way mate, welcome and have a good one ey

      Welcome Skateboard814
A person usually wakes up emediatly after a dream. When you woke up you may have been too concerned about the reality checks instead of keeping your eyes closed, relaxing, and trying to recall a dream you may have had. Like Paperdoll said, try to remember something. Once you recall one thing chances are that a flood of more memories will follow!
      Good Luck

      quick update

since i started about four days ago, i've gotten to the point where i can recall one dream a night. the thing is i always remember them in the morning and not right after the dream is over. i mean i've read all the things about reality checks and dream signs, but i can't seem to get my brain to realize i'm dreaming. and in the morning i usually just end up kicking myself for letting another slip by. anybody got any pointers for noticing that i'm dreaming that maybe worked for you have hasn't been listed on the site? and thanks to all you in the welcome committee for welcoming me. thanks. later.

Well one method that was suggested earlier (forgot who it was, sorry) is that throughout the day you focus on yourself and where you are etc. Once you get used to this, you will always remain focused and not let your thoughts drift to much. This will make it harder for you subconsious to trick you.

Again, like everyone says, its only been 4 days. Just be patient and give it more time. It's understandable that you are excited about this.
