So yeah, I know some people take LD'ing to be this whole "spiritual" thing. But I'm wondering if inducing LD's for fun is normal. I'm a Christian, but it seems fun to fly and explore as you sleep, and the science behind it fascinates me as well...So if any of you have an answer, let me know.

I think it's safe to say that there are more people in this very community that LD for fun than for the sake of anything "spiritual".

Lucid dreaming is indeed widely spread amongst people that adhere to mysticism and what not but this community isn't about that. It's here to provide an objective view of lucid dreaming and provide anyone with the information needed to succeed at it; no matter what the reason.

Lucid dreaming is fun! Sure, there have been debates about morals in dreams and so on and perhaps you'll find those topics interesting to discuss yourself. Otherwise, there is much to do that doesn't cross any morals within a dream but is still extremely enjoyable.

Thank's Merlock, I just started doing RC's yesterday, I'm trying the "nose pinching one". I've also started my dream journal last night, but my 2 dreams I could remember were (1) Me waking up and writing in my dream journal, and (2) me talking to my aunt about LD's. Is that normal?

Hahah, sure it is. You're currently interested in lucid dreaming and thus it's a serious concern of yours.

Keep the same determination and you'll become lucid one of these nights.

      Welcome Quiddy

Well, I'm an atheist, and I can safely say that I don't do it for any spiritual stuff. I can see the science in it, and I take it at face value, just normal dreams where you are conscious. Its like having very vivid dreams you can control, nothing wrong with that, nothing anyone should be afraid of.

As Merlock said, DV doesn't push the "new-age" crap at you like some of the other LDing forums. If you're looking for straight up info about the science of LDing, and how to improve your own LDing ability, you've come to the right place.

It's up to you what you spend your LDs doing - it's the forum's job to help you get there. DreamViews is a very friendly and open-minded community. I'm sure you'll find it meets your needs. Good luck and have fun!

What do morals in a dream matter? Nobody else knows about your dreams except you so take advantage of this and do whatever the hell you want.

One, such as myself, that upholds his/her won morals and principles always, would uphold them in a dream as well. It is not a matter of the consequences of an action, it is a matter of the action itself, a matter of principle.

You might want to read Leo Volont's topic about the Higher Dream Mind and influencing your dreams.

The point of the topic is that you shouldn't change the dreams beca-- meh, just read the topic. It's interesting.

The point is basically you should think about your actions.

I guess that if you break your moral principles in a dream you may fell slightly guilty when you wake up. But I generally don't regret anything

      Hey Quiddy,

Although I absolutely LOVE having fun in my Lucid Dreams (after all, everyone knows, fun rules) I have also had the distinct priveledge of spiritual experience whilst lucid. I am not Christian but for a brief moment while I frantically asked the question, "what should I do? What should I do?" (because the dream was fading) a 'voice' suggested to me that, "many people ask to see the Christ-figure."

"Yeah! Yeah! I wanna see the Christ-figure!" I replied eagerly. Too eagerly it seems because I soon faded awake. I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but I reckon you might like to see the "Christ-figure"... why not try it?

I have also met my Spirit Guide in a Lucid Dream. It was indescribably beautiful. From your religion you would be familiar with Guardian Angels. It is said that we all have a Guardian Angel with us as we experience this physical existence (as well as Guides/Beings of Light alligned with our "purpose"). Is there an Angel you feel an affinity with? If so, why not call on them in a Lucid Dream and have a deep and meaningful with them? If you feel game, maybe you could call on God Himself.

One of these days I am going to call on Gabriel because everytime I listen to the song, "Gabriel" by "Lamb" I get complete 'being-shivers' almost all the way through the song. If you haven't heard it, you have not lived.

      Dae,

      Rob.

Recently a fellow member of the page PM'd me with a short biography of Saint Seraphim, a Saint of the Eastern Orthodox Church. What stood out was a favorite quote of his, that "It is no sin to be cheerful".

Now, why is it that Protestants have such a tradition of gloom. Well, it is because the Leaders of Protestantism saw themselves, and only themselves, the Few at the Top, as actually being Saved. The great masses of 'poor' protestants, by their poverty, demonstrated themselves to be "reprobate" -- the non-elect. These people, though believers, were not by Wealth or Noble Birth "chosen" by God. By Predestined Determined Fate they were born to be damned. So it would have been entirely inappropriate for these future denizens of Hell to ever enjoy their Life among the Living even for a moment. Hell would be given them on Earth if Protestant's Leaders had their say. So the Leaders of Protestantism brought on the Slave Ships and the Factories, Colonialism and Imperialism and every form of Exploitation. If the Reprobate would have any purpose on Earth it would be to wear out their Lives to increase the Rewards going to the Elect of God -- those who proved God's Love for them by their Bank Accounts.

Of course this was not correct Doctrine. This is why I insist that the Protestants are Antichristical. And I often wonder why the rank and file of Protestants do not figure out that their Leaders have consigned them to the Reprobate. don't they read what these men taught? They even pay tithes into Church Coffers that are predicated on the damnation of 99% of their congregations. This is the greatest proof of just how stupid and deluded most people are.... most Christians are...

Yes, its odd.. and it leads to a paradox of expression I often hear -- when people tell me that they never before understood the truth of what I have to say, but once they've heard me, then they realize they always knew it to be so.

It seems that I awaken sleeping Knowledge and dormant Understanding.
