Hmm.. I don't know if their really is a 'technique' for it, but going to bed earlier helped me a whole bunch.

Well your on the right track to LDing, keep doing reality checks and make a dream journal to help with dream recall.
I recommend WBTB and MILD as they have helped me.

The most important technique is self belief and give it time, the time it takes to go lucid is different with every one, so just be patient.

Oh and welcome to DV

Good luck

Hey Man,

Welcome. It sounds like you're straining too hard. Diligence is good and quite necessary for long-term success but relaxation and calm is also of great assistance. I created a hypnotic recording for myself to assist with having Lucid Dreams and it has helped a lot. It involves quite a dogg'd focus on incubation, intent and imagination before sleep. Although it has helped me to become lucid often, I noticed a strange (and quite consistent) occurrence: whenever I went to my Dad's and didn't listen to the CD (no pressurised thinking, straining) I would have a lucid dream about 80% of the time!

So, I would recommend relaxing not just the body, but your mind and its fervent attempts as well. The time between my first and second lucid dream was months, then months between that one and the next, then a year or two (smoking weed) and then it started becoming more frequent and eventually down to weeks... my most consistent results ALWAYS came from good dream journalism... so fill up those diaries!

Peace out,

Rob.

Hey freefire!
I think the best advice I can give you is to be patient and stay calm, try not to think that much about it. And maybe you should try drinking a glass of milk before bed ( not sure that works, for me it does, but I thik just as a placebo) or eat a banana, that contains vitamin, apparently your dreams become more vivid, so easier to remember I guess.
Good luck and have confidence in you, it's going to be ok!
