      yeah...im new

      uh hi.
      my name is naya.
yeah...ive been studying lucid dreaming for about....3 months.
long story as to how i got into it.
      anyhoo.
i have a question...like most of the newbies im sure.
when i first started i began have lucid dreams within a couple weeks.
then i got a book about lucid dreaming and began reading it avidly.
within a day or two of reading the book i stopped have lucid dreams, and dream recall became very hard again.
      im sooo frustrated.
what happened, shouldn't reading and learning more about lucidity increase my lucid dreaming? cos im gaining more knowledge...
      bleh.
      evilish.
did you notice how we're all changing?
yet still we are the broken ones.

      WELCOME

You would think it would become easier. Unfortunatlyfor most people it seems when someone is first introduced to Lucid Dreams that they are niave. Then you learn more & more and to advance it takes time and effort.
------But it is worth the effort!!!!!!!

      Welcome.

You might have burned yourself out by becoming too intent with LDing. This happens to a lot of people when they overload themselves with the subject too quickly. Take a break, and the dream recall will start coming back on it's own accord.

In some LD article I've read that there are 3 stages to learning something.

      1) gaining information. You can manipulate this information to certain degree. But it's not efficient. As long as you are just absorbing information, nothing is gonna happen.

      2) Your mind processes information, stores it and makes it easier to comprehend. At this point accessing and manipulating information is much easier.

      3) I dont exacltly remember what happens at 3rd phase, but I guess you can study and expand your knowledge.

Same thing happens with lucid dreaming. Once you start learning it, you are preventing your mind from using information.
That's why so many people recommend taking a short (few days to a week) break.
During this time you process information and it's much easier to achieve lucid dreaming....

Yes. Ev's right. Take a small break from it all and let your mind digest everything. It can't all come in one night! (Or one week)

In my opinion the three stages to achieving lucidity are:

      1. Recall
      2. Awareness
      3. Lucidity

and you should allow at least a couple weeks for each step to make sure you become lucid effectively. You seem to be jumping the gun a bit, reading on the last two steps before you fully master the first.

      may just be a coincidence.

but it's probably what Squall said.

anyway, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

      Welcome!!!

You are probably just lettin the stress of wanting to perform get to you! I know it sometimes really messes up my ability to LD. Seems the fewer I have, the more I want them. This causes stress and my LD rate falls to almost zero.

Just relax, everything will work out!
