      Hi, PaintaBadger, welcome to DV.

You will probably find the tutorials section helpful. I'd also recommend that you check out Stephan Laberge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", a great book that will help you to become lucid a lot easier.

      Happy dreaming!

      Hiya, welcome to the forum!

as for learning to have lucid dreams on your own, may i first recommend that you check out the Tutorials

this has some great induction techniques which i'm sure you'll find useful.

However, before you can practise these techniques, you ideally need to have a recall of at least two dreams per night.

the best way to know if you are doing this is to keep a dream journal. There's a great feature for that on this site, but you can just use a notepad by your bed.
To inspire you to write in it, you might want to make it a bit jazzy, make it something you want to write in...
When your recall has gone up, try one of the induction techniques.
One thing about those, don't expect results overnight. (no pun intended). Sometimes you have to work at a technique for a couple of weeks before it'll kick in.
I also recommend practising frequent reality checks. As you're reading this, ask yourself if you are dreaming. Be fully open to the possibility that you could be. A good way to check would be to look at the clock on your display on your monitor. Make a note of the numbers, look away, and look back again, have they changed? If not, you're awake.

'all of the moments that already passed/
try to go back and make them last.'

Hey there, welcome to Dream Views.

You know, I find reading the topics here helps with lucid dreaming quite a bit (as well as oh course doing the inductions), take a look around at what the other people have suggested and participate in some topics.
