Im new to this forum and have actually never had a lucid dream, so i may be jumping the gun here, but im really interested in LD's for the purpose of direct contact to ones subconscious (or perhaps superconscious)
and therefore, due to the 'infinitely wiser' abilities of our subconscious we can discover things about ourselves such as underlying causes for anxiety or worry which surpassed our conscious. It has been said that their are thereputic benifits to LD's (eg sitting on the couch with your dream therapist). Has anyone tried LD for self discovery, therepeutic reasons, uncovering hidden issues or learning more about oneself? If yes, what happened and how effective is it for these purposes?

Welcome to the forum .

I haven't had any self discoveries but I hear that LDs can help you in certain areas. You can get your subconscious to tell you about what you really think about some thing. As well as over come your fears.

Hi!

I don't know about DIRECT contact to your subconscious, or LDs as a tool to talk to your subconscious, but I can say the following:

If you can improve your dream recall, and get lots of non-lucids, and get good at interpreting your own dreams and figuring out what they mean, this can help to figure out what your subconscious is telling you.

Also, in non-lucids there have been a number of times where I've had conversations with DCs who have represented elements of my subconscious. So, talking to your DCs, whether lucid or not, could help you to talk to your subconscious I suppose.

welcome to the forum!

this is actually one of the reasons i became interested in lucid dreaming. i thought it would bring me to a better understand of myself and my feelings and how i think et cetera.

a few others reasons i came immediately interested are a creative inspiration, since im not naturally creative and hopefully enlightenment
