I have three inquires I'd like to bring up here that have bothered me for a while with lucid dreaming.

1. Time Dilation - I know it's possible to control time itself within a lucid dream, but doing so will not length the actual dream itself. Is is possible to delay the perception of dream time to make a short night appear to last for days?

2. Contacting Other Dreamers - This may be far-fetched, but I heard of people preaching on how one can contact real-life individuals during their dreams from your own. However, I cannot see how this would work since you are essentially in your own consciousness, and not others.

3. Relationship with Astral Projection - I know people regard them as two seperate experiences, but from what I read, they sound very similiar to eachother. What are your opinions on this?

1. It would be only an illusion, you can actually imagine whatever you want, but it ends up on it.
I'm tired being sorry.

1. Debateable. Leberge claims that you can't really alter time in a Lucid dream. That time will pass at real time. Other people claim otherwise. Personally, I feel that if you have enough control that you could achieve it.

2. Shared dreaming. Again, debateable. Most people don't believe it is possible, yet some people claim to have done it. In my opinion it belongs more in the Astral Projection realm than Lucid Dreaming. Lucid Dreaming is just being aware of your dream, not traveling out and making contact... IMHO.

3. I think that they are 2 different things. I think that some people can create Lucid Dreams that will fit into what they think an Astral Projection is. But I think that the two are not the same thing. I think that anyone who can remember their dreams is capable of learning how to Lucid Dream. I don't think that just anyone can AP.

Welcome to the forum!

I don't have much experience with these topics - try looking around the Beyond Dreaming forum for answers to your questions.

Good luck and have fun!

Good questions.

1) Time compression in dreams is a very tricky topic. I personally think this "compression" is an illusion created by the nature of dreams, and the fact that in dreams, causality and logic doesn't work in the same way. You get more logical "gaps", and so, your brain interprets these gaps as periods of time in which stuff happened. So, you might get the impression that more time has passed than actually has. Does that make sense? Urghh. Okay, I just read that, and it confuses ME.

As for (2) and (3)?

Shared Dreaming and Astral Projection are impossible, ludicrous ideas. There are people on this forum who virulently disagree with this statement, but, there are just as many who would agree. But, if you think they ARE possible, check out the beyond dreaming forum. Therte you'll fing discussions on astral, shared dreaming, out-of-body stuff, demons, talking to God, talking to dead people, and other similar stuff.

(In case you haven't realised by now, I err slightly on the skeptical side of things. EVER so slightly, mind you... )

I had a dream that I thought lasted for three days. When I woke up less than an hour had passed.
