      hey all..
      let me introduce myself first
      im wally.. 16 yrs old
anyways about 2/3 weeks ago i realized about lucid dreaming..
i was very interested in it, and i went on google, and typed in lucide dreaming..
i went in and read most of the sites that help you attain lucid dreaming..
i read about dream recall, dream journal, REM, when you dream, mild, wild nild, ect....
anyway, i tried everything they said.. i tried to keep a journal, i tried to set my alarm early, i tried almost everything, but i just cant seem to ever remember my dreams....
i just feel like im never in a dream...
i just go to sleep and wake up.
i remember just 1 time, about 10 days ago, i accidentally had a dream that i remembered, but i didnt know it was a dream until i woke up..
      but thats it
      am i doing something wrong?
or im just a type of person that this doesnt come easy to?
      thanks

HI there A_Munk3y! WELCOME to the Forum.

Can you explain a little about your sleep habits? hours of sleep, supplements, etc.

You also may want to begin with just a journal for now to help your general recall. Inundating yourself with a bunch of techniques and information may not be helpful at this stage.

      hi thanks for replying
      k.. i usually sleep around 10- 11
i wake up about 7:20 on weekdays and around 9 on weekends
i sleep mostly with the tv on but low voice and set it to turn off in 60-90 minutes....
i have 2 pillows and i sleep on my right side ^^ ( is that wat you mean by sleeing habits)?
      supplements?
well i dont know what you mean but i am taking nitro-tech (which is a muscle building formula u drink after u excersize) they call it a suplement

u said to begin with just a journal, and thats what i did...
it just didnt work for me, then i went off to the other techniques
      thanks a bunch

      Hi Wally,

      Welcome on board!

It sounds like you have done everything right. Keeping a journal is a great way. Tell me, what do you do when you wake up? Do you write in your journal right away? I've found that dreams tend to evaporate after 30 seconds. If I don't make a concious effort to remember the dream or write it down in that short span, it is gone.

you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I'd say it's a long shot that a muscle-building exercise supplement could somehow negatively affect your sleep, but you might as well read any safety precautions/side effects to verify that.

"slight nausea, dizziness, an aching feeling througout the muscle, incapability to recall dreams...."

Well after my nonexistant success at lucid dreaming after trying to lucid dream EVERY SINGLE DANG TIME I TOUCHED A BED, I decided to just keep lucid dreaming at the back of my mind, and move on without thinking too much about it, and WAH-LAH! I got a lucid dream a few nights ago, like a TOTAL lucid dream. It ruled.

I really don't see any reason why this shouldn't work for you, so just don't worry about it.

      hmmm. u might be right
mayb thinking about it 2 much is making it not happen
like that saying about never hitting the target when you try, and hitting it when you dont think about it
guess i should just stop really trying too hard, and see wat heppens

well i dought its about nitro-tech, but it could be possible, but the safety doesnt mention anything mental..
      just maybe bladder problems

Er..I'm pretty sure I said that it's a long shot, but that he might as well check just to be sure.

Hmm..he said he tried keeping a journal but it didn't help?

Maybe you weren't commited enough? If you make a conscious effort to record any dreams you remember every night, it should help a lot.

      Hola,

When I first started to keep my dream journal, I would wake up in the middle of the night and have most my dream remembered. I would tell myself that since I have it all remembered, I could just write it down in the morning. All I remember now is how awsome the dream was... nothing else. During the nights where you actually do get a lot of sleep, you will have to wake up in the middle of the night and use your ipod light or somthing to write your dreams down. My dream recall came very slowy because I go through exhaustion every day. I have 65+ mile weeks for cross country so it took me a while to practice. I still have a Long way to go.

      trust me, im VERY commited
and i usually set up my alarm 6 hrs after i sleep, like i did today, i set it at 5, then i came on and searched more about lucid dreaming, for 45 minutes, then i went back to sleep, and stayed partially awake, for like 10 minutes just thinking about dreaming...then i fell asleep... as i woke up, i finally rememberd i had a dream
      I HAD A DREAM ^^
i was playing tag with my cousin, a bird, a bear, and some other animals
and idiot me didnt realize it was a dream until i woke up.. its kinda sad that i didnt realize the fact that i was playing tag with animals... but nonetheless i had a dream

Well, as the first thing you need to do in order to obtain LDs is to keep a dream journal, I guess you need some timps on dream recall. I posted these in another thread, I hope They'll help you...

Quote Originally Posted by Lyla View Post

The important thing is patience, stay in bed for about 10 minutes, even if you don't remember anything the moment you awoke. Try not to open your eyes when you realise you awoke, don't think of the matters of the day, try to sit in bed in different positions (it's said that if you sit in the same position in which you were when you had the dream, it would be easier to remember it). And while sitting in bed think of all the things you might have dreamt - like a mental list, or you could even write one down - like, the things you've been recently dreaming, or the things that have preoucupied you a lot recently, people you know, places you've been to etc. Sometimes, if you think of the thing you dreamt, you get that wierd deja-vu feeling and then realise "Hey, I dreamt this!"...

      Hope it helps.
