Hi all im quite new here and also an LD newbie(didnt have an LD yet).
The past few days(after 1.5 week of exercising my recall) as i fall asleep i experience something like the first stages of WILD.The thing is ive read that WILD is only possible during a morning nap after a 5-6 hour sleep. This is whats happening to me before nights' sleep:
I certainly hear Hypnagogic sounds(i can certainly distinguish them from real sounds because they somehow feel inner sounds) that escalate very quickly to very loud sounds. It also comes along with a falling sensation. This experience wakes me up everytime.
The thing is im not exercising any technique(just a strong belief that LD will happen sometime) i just relax to some (non-lyric)music.The night before iheard a very loud sound like a car passing by and in the morning i wrote down my dream of driving!!
The problem is that i cant reach concious sleep because the noises are so loud along with the losing stability sensation that it seems impossible not to open my eyes and wake up.

My question is :is it possible to reach WILD before a nights' sleep and so easily(without seious effort)? And if so how can i train myself not to wake up but to remain focused till i get into full sleep?

PS.=I almost lose the sense of outer hearing(e.g. the sound coming from headphones is indistinguishable) when these sounds come.Another thing that somehow makes me wonder is that after staying awake for more than 24 hours i also hear hypnagogic sounds during waking life.It feels like im talking really quickly inside my head(it doesnt make any sense ,just random words).

This is normal. Before night's sleep I sometimes also see/hear something and it wakes me up.

I think WILDing before night's sleep is almost imossible (because of low tendency of REM-sleep enetering).

Experiencing uncommon problems is a way to debunk inaccurate theories and find the truth.

      Welcome slip_divided!

As likenight has said, this is perfectly normal.

      From the Tutorials ==>
      HI & HS
      Hypnagogic imagery and hypnagogic sounds.
These are images or sounds that come as impulses during the onset of a hallucinogenic state. Usually before or after sleep. Sometimes through meditation. These images & sounds are random and can sometimes lead to HIT. The Hypnagogic Imagery Technique
      .

The WILD technique is a one that involves happy mediums. You have to be tired enough to be able to usually begin HI and of coarse fall asleep. At the same time it seems to take a more conscious roll than that of some of the other techniques.
Because you are directly going into a dream your awareness is a key. But staying calm so your conscious mind does not override the process is also key.

Here is a link to the Tutorials. There is some good info on thing not to do and about the WILD technique as well.

Thank you all for your answers.I read about it in the tutorials. It seems that although these sounds are indeed normal its somehow a difficult technique for a start(not to mention the fear obstacle which is quite a factor for me).

I guess i should concetrate on RC's more and WBTB.I really wish i could see some progress with LDing because my intent is to overcome my entomophobia(fear of insects) through them.I dont know if LD can be used for such psychological treatment but im not convinced that medication would either

Thank you for all the help!
