Let me introduce myself, my name is Matt, I come from NSW, Australia, and just found this website yesterday after being showed by a member on a skateboard forum called Casualtie, who is also a member on here. So after seeing and reading about this yesterday I was keen to start! So I read I needed to develop my dream recall, and started doing RL's for the rest of the day anyway. When I went to bed I organised a dream journal next to my bed and went to sleep. I woke up a few times during the night and recorded my dreams. All up I had 3 dreams which I remembered perfectly. I was amazed, I never remember dreams, beforehand I was lucky to remember one! I suppose thinking about dreaming before I went to sleep helped alot! Anyways, I started an online journal on this site here in the Journal Forum. Now, how many dreams a night should I be remembering well before I try a lucid dream? And when I dream, I like dont remember being in the dream or feeling the dream or controlling it or anything, but when I wake up I remember exactly what happened in it... its strange because its sort of like remembering watching a movie or something. Anyway, what do I do next? Ill keep developing my dream recall, but for how long? And when can i try a LD and how do i try it? because when i dream nowi have no control or anything so i dont know how id try a reality check. arrggh it seems havin an LD will be really hard! i would of tried a RL last night ig i cud of but its not like im in the dream, grr so hard to explain |

Just one question, when you have a lucid dream, is it like real life? Because when I have a dream, I don't actually feel like i'm in the dream, and dont even think about the dream until I waske up, do you know what I mean? Like, I dont think about anything in the dream, and when I wake up, I feel as if I just watched a movie through my own eyes sort of thing, but when i'm actually asleep I don't think about anything.. When you have a lucid dream, do you actually think about stuff while your alseep, so it's like real life? |

Well, the term lucid dreaming directly translates to "Conscious Dreaming." All it really is, is knowing your dreaming. Control comes later through practice. |

Thanks! Last night I tried a FILD, which didn't work, but I wasn't worried, I had like 7 dreams! Because I kept waking up every ten minutes and falling back to sleep, but I could never remember the dreams when I woke up |

Yeah, Make a habit of RCing in Reality. For example, every hour(or 2, 3 ect) look at your hands and ask yourself(in your head or aloud) "Am I dreaming?" |
