      Lucid Dream?

Hi there. I'm new to all this dream recall and lucid dreaming.

I've rambled on alot, so you might want to skip down to the part in question.
If you dont understand something I've written, just ask. I'm finding it a little hard to explain everything.

      Anyway, here it goes.
      My Dream.
There was something that happened first, I think it was at school, but I cant remember any of that bit.

Anyway, I was sent down to the beach from school for some strange reason, and when I got there it was Besaid Beach. Besaid beach is a beach from my favourite video game (Final Fantasy X). lol.

Down at this beach my two best friends were down there, Troy and Jared. There was some type of investigation down there and they had their watches inspected. How strange!

After I spoke with them about this for a while, I learned they were making a movie down there. I could see camera's being set up on ledges near the palm tree's from the game. It was still in school time, and it was almost time to go home. (We were still down the beach though)
They let us go early for participating, even though I did nothing.

On my way home, I noticed what I think is my dream sign. Its in most of my dreams at least. Its flying. I fly in my dreams, but not your typical Superman and Astro-Boy flying, its more like flying while running and strugling to stay up.

I continued to walk home and I went around the corner of a wall into a nice little shortcut I use. Instead of lovely grass and trees, there was a hallway. Really narrow, about 1/4 of a metre.
It was hospital style, but no people or objects, just a door at the end with another corner.
I walked towards the door and as I got there a nurse was pushing a patient on a bed towards my end of the hallway and around the corner.

This is the part in question.
As the nurse went around the corner and away from me, I suddenly felt different. I could hear the distant noises of a Television. When I heard this, it felt the same as when I am day-dreaming or imagining something. I felt conscious, I knew that I was dreaming, but it felt like I was sort of awake.

By the way, I slept in and my dream ended around 8:55 in the morning. Also, the "distant noises of a Television" turned out to be my TV next to my bed that was turned on my a timer to wake me up. It was supposed to wake me around 3:00 am, but it failed. I think the TV sounds may have made me realise I was in a dream.

      My question is:
Could this have been an lucid dream, or was it just my dream continuing as I woke up and turning into my imagination?

Its only my first attempt, so its probably nothing, but I'd just like to hear the opinions of people who have experienced it before.

I am pretty pleased I was able to wake up after my dream ended by myself though, because I haven't remembered having a dream for months.

Lucid dreaming merely means being aware that you are, in fact, dreaming. Concious during subconciousness.

Now...seems like you were aware on a lower level....sometimes called 'low level lucidity' here.

I've experienced similar things, but before falling asleep. I think there is some kind of state of mind between dreaming and being awake. Last night, just before I fell asleep, I thought about silly things I normally wouldn't think about. Furthermore those thoughts were irrational, for example: I thought about a washing machine over and over, and said to me if this doesn't work or if that happens I'll end up in the washing machine. Totally crazy, and then I noticed that this wasn't really ME thinking there but my subconscious. But I wasn't dreaming or asleep, I was just lying there, and as I noticed it I opened my eyes and got up.

In your case I would say it was just your TV and the noise coming from it that has been incorporated into your dream, but yeah, I think this was your first lucid experience. Congrats

The dream is real, my friends. The failure to realize it is the only unreality.

Cool, you had a FFX related dream, too?

I also did, just yesterday. It was amazing. It's "True RPGaming" In the Lucid Experiences forum.

Did you think you were awake in the dream? aka. false awakening - They look too real to be a 'dream' once you experience it.

I was just wondering, does anyone else see some places in their dreams a little bit out of shape? Often in my dreams, rooms, buildings and scenery are different to the real world.
      Is it just me?

Same thing with me everyday. It's just your imagination and subconcious distorting reality.
