      Hi all

Last night I was sleeping on and off all night, now I stopped doing my dream journal a while back, but can still remember dreams quite well.

Now last night about 20 past 4 in the morning as I start to fall asleep, the idea of lucid dreaming suddenly comes to me.

And instead of falling into a sleeping state, my eyes are closed but I can still see my bedroom etc.

It becomes really weird and my body starts tingling all over, so I do a reality check (poke hand into stomach) and it doesn't go through, then I just keep thinking, this is a dream, not reality.

5 minutes later the tingling goes away and them I'm floating in the air.

Now I try doing different things like controlling where I fly etc, and I have some control to it, but other bits I think my mind did for me without me wanting it to.

I woke up, then went back to sleep immediately, but this time there wasn't any tingling, straight into lucidity, this time, i stand up and begin to walk to my door, but I trip on something and fall over and make one heck of a noise, and my door opens and Dad's there asking what I'm doing up lol.

That's when I woke up again and found myself in bed. (confusing eh? )

Now I think I was lucid, but I thought when lucid only things that YOU wanted to happen happened.

Can anyone shed any further light on this?

      Many Thanks

      Phate

Yes, you had a lucid dream. And yes, things you don't want to happen can happen, even in a ld, specially if this was your first one. With some practice you'll learn how to control better your dreams, but even so, random things still can happen in them.

Don't know if you were lucid.
I am a beginning lucid dreamer as well and had 3 LDs since i read that LaBerge book.
Dream control was a big issue in all of them.
E.g. i was able to start to fly but unable to control where i flew, i was flown so to say.
Main concern is altering the mood of a dream. 2 of the LDs were rather unpleasant and i was unable to change it. Can this be done?

Well it was one of my first.

I got interested in Lucid dreaming awhile back and kept a diary for about 2 months.

Then real life issues stopped me doing it, and then cos of the state I was in last night (nodding on and off), for some reason the thought came to me and it all sort of happened.

I'm going to read up abit about inducing them to remind myself and give it another go tonight, hopefully it's going to rekindle my interest in it

      Hey dude and thanks

Yes I've got an idea of it now! and I want to go flying! lol, but as I said in my reply above, hopefully this will rekindle me to get back into it now and I'm going to read up on inducing them tonight before i go to bed so it's all fresh in my mind

      Wish me luck!
