Hey All,

I just figured I'd introduce myself. I'm male, 30 years old and married. I've been reading posts in this forum like crazy for the past few days and this place ROCKS! Thanks so much to everyone who's contributed advice! I'm learning a lot here...

A little about my exeriences with LD: I used to have them all the time when I was kid and occasionally up through high school. Then I was in a nasty car accident when I was 19 and stopped getting them.

I recently decided to try and re-learn LD'ing. So I bought LaBerge's book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming," and also "Lucid Dreaming in 30 Days." They're pretty helpful, but the info I'm getting here has done a LOT to fill in the gaps!

Anyway, so far I've had one successful LD experience. The only technique I was using was Reality Checks. In my dream I was in a field with a bunch of people walking in front of me. I just suddenly stopped and said "what am I doing out here?!? Wait a minute...I'm DREAMING!"

Then I immediately jumped into the air and started flying. The funny thing was, one of my dream characters was holding onto my leg and trying to drag me back down. LOL! I had to "will" them off my leg. Anyway, I was flying for about 60 seconds (I think in both "real" and dream time), when my wife turned on her hair dryer (in real life), which snapped me awake. (major bummer - LOL)

That was about a week ago and I haven't had any other LD's yet. But the funny was, that LD wasn't very lucid, although I knew I was dreaming. Like I expected the feeling of flying to be a lot more intense, ya know? Instead I was just like "ok, I'm flying." Is that normal for a newbie?

Anyway, that's where I'm at for now. Looking forward to learning more and getting to know folks.

Peace.
