Yes, this is absolutely possible, in the same way it is possible for you to win a big lottery. It's just not likely. This has happened to me very few times in my life.

Yes, this is absolutely possible, in the same way it is possible for an infant to fight Mohammad Ali. I think the most helpful thing about reality checks is that they make you question whether you are dreaming or not. Most of the time, I can tell when I am dreaming, but something has to make you think about it first. It usually won't occur to you that you are dreaming unless you ask yourself, or think to check. You'll be surprised how easy it should be to confirm that you are in a dream. If you EVER have any question as to whether or not you are dreaming, you are.

Not that I know of. Keeping a dream journal is the most effective way of connecting your consciousness with your sub. That's what it is basically all about. Keep your journal right next to your bed. Recall fades quickly. Once you start remembering your dreams, you'll start remembering more and more.

The last two nights, I got to a stage where my arms and legs were numb, and I saw swirls of color, but I stalled after that, finally getting sleepy and drifting to unconsciousness. Is it possible that I haven't done enough preparation yet, and that is holding me back? Perhaps it is because I'm trying it without the aforementioned 6-7 hours of sleep? Or should I just keep at it?

WILD is the very hardest method I can think of. I've only done it on a few cases in my lifetime, and it was never on purpose. Get your 6-7 hours of sleep, wake up for a little bit. Watch some porn, and then try the same thing again. I've layed for hours making my limbs numb, and making swirls around my head, and making myself half crazy. It never amounts to anything for me.
