OK, so I would kinda just like to go through how I found out about all this..

Three nights ago i remember wanting to be able to remember my dreams, because I love it when I remember them.. So I went on Google and searched about it which led me to a site outlining Lucid Dreams. I thought it was sooo cool and I resolved to find out more about it. The next day I found this website and signed up and just now I've gotten posting privileges so here I am..

I have terrible Dream Recall.. I seldom remember any dreams at all, but yesterday all that I thought about was Lucid Dreaming and remember dreams. I was really nervous when it was time for me to go to sleep with all this new knowledge about LDs and stuff.. I went to bed thinking about dreams and such and the whole night was very strange. At one point I was very tingly and my eyelids were pulsing and I swear I heard a sea-gull.
But sadly I then became very awake and then went right to sleep and in the morning I didn't remember any dreams at all.

I kinda feel like I tried to do too much the first night so I was wondering what steps I should take from here, I would be most grateful.

Also I'd just like to say hey and I'm really excited about interacting with all the people on this website.

*Cartman voice* No Kitty its my welcome! No Kitty Mine! KITTY! BAD KITTY!

      Stop getting here before me!

      Anyway...

      That aside, welcome to Dreamviews!

You've come to the right place. Lots of info, lots of friendly and helpful people For Dream Recall you can try many things. Dream Journalling would be best, and that is writing down your dreams whenever you remember them. Even if its just bits and peices, WRITE. IT. DOWN!

If you have trouble remembering any to write down, you can wake yourself up during REM sleep which can help, as REM is when the most vivid and memorable dreaming occurs. REM occurs about every 90 minutes roughly, so aiming for the later and longer periods (4.5, 6, and 7.5 hours) would be good. Be sure to adjust your alarm according to how long it takes you to start to fall asleep too.

Another, though more crude, method is drinking LOTS and LOTS of water.

Anyway, just browse the forum. You'll find lots and lots of info, and if you have any questions at all, just ask away. Our community is very helpful, and will do its best to get you the answers you need

      Once again, Welcome to Dreamviews!

      Happy Dreaming!

Yep, I love no face too. I think I'm going to try the drinking water thing tonight because my alarm clock would wake up my mom and she would yell and wonder what I was trying to do..
I may also get some B12.. Who knows..

      Heya PG, and welcome!

My suggestion for waking yourself up is just to use auto-suggestion. While you are trying to go to sleep, just repeat to yourself "I will awaken after I dream, and I will remember my dream", and really believe it when you are saying (thinking) it. It may not work the first night or two, but eventually you should start waking up after 3-5 hours with a dream fresh in you mind. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Hi, I'm new too, so welcome BTW, i'm not sure vitamin b12 does much, since I take it before school (at like 5:30 AM) but I do know for sure that melatonin works and so does B6, enjoy the LDs
